I paid less than that for my last car. *has heart failure*
...yeah, I'm up the road apices in Portland OR. With Newegg I usually get a shipment within 2 - 3 days without using express shipping.
,,,
sigh...
how did this geek joke go... hmmm... couldn't find it anywhere...
"i suspect my computer smokes, eats and drinks at night when i'm asleep: in the morning i always find crumbs, ashes and stains on the keyboard"
I often drink hot tea while at my computer.....
You got a great new computer.... enjoy big time..... :)
$3200 and it doesn't have a 2080 TI? Oof.
It would have added another $200 plus onto the bill. I wanted to keep it under $3000 but with shipping and taxes it pushed it up to where it landed.
Oh, I'm pretty neat with it and most of the time I put a cloth over the keyboard but sometimes I forget. I wipe it down all the time. I keep my expensive Logitech mouse clean too. I'm not a slob! LOL
HAHAHA... it wouldn't dare. I'd get my flogger out and it would get a thrashing! (Yes, I used to be in the leather scene so I have one!)
This was YEARS ago, back when I was in ALLOT better shape LOL In the photo I was just coming home from a party but it's stuff I wore as much as I could, minus the horns!
omg XDDD... yup, this really looks like an after party pic!
and you wore this well, so i guess you made many people happy just wearing this stuff whenever you pleased ^^
but srsly.. you would really flog a pooooor computer just for having a good time? you're harsh... ;)
I'm tha' daddy! LOL
You seriously do not understand the leather scene.
HAHAHA Not many folks do Ken. I didn't really fit into it actually. I wanted to be a "boy" but wouldn't stand for being told what to do. I wasn't a "daddy" as I have a hard time telling or directing others unless they are just doing something so obviously stupid I have no choice. I like the look, the feel and the smell of leather but the liftstyle was one I moved away from. Of course I still own all my stuff but don't fit into most of it. My harness is just hideous on my body shape now so it's in a bag in a box in my closet! LMAO
... and even if i did, i might maybe not talk the talk here on a 3d forum, and choose a light joke tone instead, hmmm?
HAHAHA TRUE!
why in the closet? it would look awesome in your room on a mannequin or sth ^^
HAHAHA No room. My one bedroom is converted to a two bedroom for financial reasons so my room is QUITE full!
sucks. oh well, as long as you don't have to move into the closet cuz there's really no room left... XD
LOL Thank goodness for that!
Cool system. Somewhat similar to my new built. Just finished assembling in on Friday. I went for a i9 7920X 12 core and invested the extra cash into 64Gb of RAM and a 1 Tb NVME drive. The motherboard is an ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe in a Corsair Obsidian 800D case. Still testing, but runs nicely so far. CPU temp holds at 60C in fulll throttle render. The cooler is a Corsair 150i with three fans and 36 cm radiator. GPU temp goes to mid 70s in Iray render. There two GPU one 1080 and one 1080ti.
Ciao

Congrats on the new rig Ram!
I hear you hon. I used to buy a good computer for $1000.00 + but now it's trippled in price but of course with the i9 and higher end vid card as well as the Solid State 2 Terrabyte drive it was bound to be more expensive than any rig I've bought previously!
Well the beast has arrived. It's actually more of a beast than I thought. The poor UPS man (cute as hell though) lugged it up to the 3rd floor and I signed for it. He offered to bring it inside for me but I thanked him and lifted it up.. YUP heavy as hell like he said. I was going to leave it till this weekend but I couldn't help myself. I unpacked it and low and behold it's an entire INCH wider than my current rig. Heafty and I'm sure ready to roll. I was dissapointed that they didn't include the Windows 10 Pro disk so I guess I have part of my hard drive dedicated as a restore partition. That's OK. I guess it's better than having to load a disk in and all that in case something goes wrong.
Now for the fun.. this weekend I'll finish up ONE last little bit for my Gino package, upload that to 'Rosity and then start the long, arduous process of backing things up and then deauthorize programs like ZBrush, iTUNES and what ever else needs that and the perhaps on Tuesday I'll dive into the long period of getting everything installed and set up to my liking. I really hate that part. But a fresh start is always good at this time.
Wish me luck! LOL
I am jealous! Hope it brings lots of great renders, quickly!
Great job! I am in the middle of building my own computer but that is expensive.
You can download the Windows 10 installers from Microsoft, with options for DVD or USB drive, if you want back-up media. Actually, I think you can use Windows itself to build installers but they might include any additional tools installed on your system (which may or may not be a good thing).
Enjoy your new rig! :)
have fun! :)
i am a bit jealous too - of the possibilities open with a system like that! but i don't envy you even a little bit about the whole installing work, lmao XD
Thanks folks. Yea, I know I can create a disk but it's such a pita. I think my current rig came with a Windows 10 Pro disk but it's probably VERY outdated without any of the current service packs and what not so thinking I won't use that EVER again! LOL
