Ron's brushes look phantastic, as always. I would love to buy, but I can't. Sadly I don't have photoshop, let alone a new version subscription. Still working with other software from 2012. So ... is there a free or cheap software which is able to open and convert these new brushes to older versions or png?

Have you tried Gimp?
Rons Brushes work in Krita (which is Free)
Funny you should ask, I just did this video today.
I show abrmate, which does both....export and convert
I also cover downloading and installing the brushes
I don't know Gimp or Krita, but Abrmate doesn't work with Ron's newer brushes. For his older brushes it works fine, but the new photoshop version he now always makes fails with Abrmate.
I just made a video...using it.....
So it will definitely work with Gimp and/or Krita?????
Because I stay away from Photoshop..... big time..... anything which is subscription only.
wonder if it would work with elements 10?
Yes, all of Ron's brushes work in Elements 10. I've used a lot of his brushes.
thanks :)
While I don't know about this particular product, the .ABR part of many of Ron's brushes work in GIMP although other parts of the products perhaps may not. If you are interested it is quick painless test to make sure they load in GIMP, then you can always return the product for credit if you find one that doesn't. Here's a list of some other products that I have an know their .abr's are working in GIMP:
Ron's brushes also work in Paintshop Pro 2019 and previous versions. PSPpro2019 is a great alternative and much cheaper, no subscription software. I have been using it on and off since version 5.
Paintshop Pro is also currently on sale for 20% off, as well.
I bought paint shop pro about a week ago have yet to install it, sadly debating on returning it because Corel lacks good customer service, these brushes look great though and are definitely going in my wishlist :)
Thanks, @sriesch, that list is helpful. I might try gimp ...
Affinity Photo looks like a real beast too.
Desktop and Tablet.
I've been using PSP since version 2 or something ... and yes, Corel is bad news but the product is pretty nice.
For $50 that Affinity Photo ^ looks pretty darn decent too ...
I've always had a good experience with Corel Support. One time I was getting an error installing one of their products. I contacted them and they set up a time and linked into my computer and helped me install the program. Another time, I wanted to buy a new Wacom tablet, or rather I was indecisive about it. I would go to the store to buy it and then leave without buying it. Then one day I decided I was just going to do it, but when I went to buy it, the price was $50 more...everywhere I looked. And then I noticed when I launched PSP that they had it for $299 in the in app purchase portal. So I clicked to buy it, but every time I tried it came out at the hire price. So I contacted Corel and they sent me a link so I could buy it at the price the app store listed it as. So no complaints from me.
