Why does my scene automatically render to CPU?

I am using Afterburner to monitor my computer. On a particular scene my 3x 1080 Ti (NON SLI) GPUs are only using 3.5GB and 3.7GB (the 3.7GB is the GPU connected to my monitor). But it immediately changes to CPU rendering and doesnt render with my GPUs at all. This doesn't happen to most scenes but it happens to quite a few. Sometimes it will be 8.7GB for another scene that won't render with GPU. 1080 Ti has 11GB VRAM and I have 32GB of RAM. Is it possible that some sort of texture or something is causing the GPUs to crash and making it refuse to render?

  • If you have a nvidia 418.+ driver try to dowload the older 417.x
Its a bug in the new driver

    Things I've been reading:

    Yes, use driver 417.x

Also, you may have to restart DAZ Studio from time to time. I usually run scene development and rendering for days or weeks at a time, but now after getting an RTX 2080 Ti and using DAZ BETA 4.11 and driver v417 I make a point of rebooting DAZ as often as my workflow will allow.
