smart content downloads missing poser file

Hi, I used smart content inside of DS to download all the products i have bought from daz into separate folders with runtimes inside.   Don't worry, i know not to touch this "cloud" folder.  I've made a copy and i want to rename and attach the sub-folders that contain runtimes directly in poser.  However I have noticed that curious tea and also curious passage don't have the poser files they are supposed to have.  Other content seems to have downloaded okay with the appropriate poser files, but not the curious stuff (curiously).  The missing curious poser files are present when i use DIM to download them but i prefer to use the folders in my duplicate of the cloud folder as it is a lot less work then unzipping and merging all the bits.

Any idea why this may have happened. is it likely there is other missing stuff in the other runtimes i got from my smart content downloads?

Love esther

    "smart content downloads"

I'm not sure what you are referring to here, Esther. All downloads, even manual ones will contain smart content metadata. When you refer to the "cloud" are you talking about Connect?

I guess you mean the PoserCF files. Since these are purely for Poser, they are best in a real Runtime rather than in the product-specific sub-folder created by Connect (DS can use Poser content installed via Connect, of course, but in tis case it already has the DSON core files - the Poser instalaltion does need both, since the PoserCF is usually just the library files). They can be installed as normal via DIM, even if you have Connect Installed unchecked in its Download Filters dialogue. I'm not sure I would use Connect for content I wished to use in Poser.

She means content downloaded via the Smart Content pane, or Connect. I've been helping her with her Poser runtime project, and came across something that looks like a bug in Connect today, which affect at least some products.

Basically it means that if you install the product with Connect, the Poser libraries and files are missing. Whether it's supposed to be that way I don't know, but if you install the product with DIM first, and then later install it with Connect also, it also includes the Poser files in the Connect folder, however they always end up as partial (.part) zero byte files. The products I've tested (3 so far) have all had separate DS and PS files, so maybe it only affects such products.

    These products include:

    11121 - A Curious Schoolhouse
    10407 - A Curious Tea
    10349 - A Curious Passage

They will install without the (zero byte) Poser files if they never have been installed with DIM on that DS installation, and it goes fast. However, once they have been installed with DIM (both DS and PS files), the zero byte Poser file problem seems to occur whenever they're being installed with Connect, also if they have been uninstalled again with DIM. Uninstalling/reinstalling them with Connect, even several times, does not change that either. And installation also takes a lot longer.

    Bug report sent to DAZ...

when I download all my smart content it creates multiple files in a folder called cloud, which despite the name cloud, is actually a real folder with real runtimes all ready to be attached externally in poser which is the way I like to organize my content.   I made a copy of this folder called cloud and I'm renaming the external runtimes before finding them from within poser.  Most of the products have a very suitable structure for poser and contain all the geometries and libraries etc inside the runtimes that is supposed to be here.

I found another runtime in amongst these that doesn't ahve it's poser stuff inside it.

That is the "staff pack". It's quite an old product ie before the days of daz studio I think, and used to just be a poser product so it should still ahve all it's bits.

which is a whole set of walking sticks etc.

I'm trying to work out why some products are ok and others aren't. If there was a list of them or something that had had their poser stuff removed for going into smart content cloud folder that would be useful to me.

this is how theh folders look and most of them contain a folder called runtime, and most contain their poser stuff just as if I'd downloaded from DIM, the difference being I don't have to name a path and create a path for each folder hit apply and hit install etc.

and this is how one of the files that isn't working properly looks inside

That's iin Daz Studio format - the Runtiem contains only the metadata and the textures. The geometry, rigging, and  morphs are in the Data folder while the user-facing files (equivalent of the library files in Poser) are in Props.
