Contemporary Romeo Outfit for G8M: What happened to the laces? [Solved]

Every promo picture for the Contemporary Romeo Outfit for G8M and the addon textures show the laces dangling down from the top grommets of the shirt opening, but no matter which computer or which version of DS I open the shirt in, those dangling laces are just not there. The same is true whether it's the belted shirt, (shown below,) or the loose shirt.

Anybody know what happened? Were they removed due to auto-fit issues, or such? Or is this something that needs a trouble ticket?

Here's the main promo image:

Well they are there in the renders I've done with it, like this one:

Just checked, they are there when I load both of the full outfits, but are missing when I load the shirts alone. Not sure what's going on here.

They're not in mine, either. Checked with the Geometry Editor, there's nothing there...

@Taoz, How odd! (Nice render, though.)

I think I'll try downloading the outfit via the Product Library and see if the laces are in that file.

Actually, the laces are on the shirts in the complete outfits, just not the individual ones. They're added as rigid follow nodes, but not on the separate shirts.

They appear to be separate items, and they seem to be missing on the standalone shirts. They're partly hidden here, seems to depend on the body type, but you can adjust them in the parameters pane.

    Thank you, everybody.

Looks to me like a trouble ticket is in order. Seems like the laces should load with either shirt, as well as with the complete outfit. Wow. How'd that one get past QA!

  • Are the laces not in the Accessories category, for separate loading?

No. There are no accessories in this product.

Each lace attaches to the shirt with a Rigid Follow Node. I believe the only way to create a preset with Rigid Follow Nodes is to create a Wearable preset. I've seen other products where the icon is labeled "Wardrobe" but it is actually a wearable preset with buttons or other details attached using Rigid Follow Nodes. I think that's what needs to be done with these shirts.

This is one of the first items I tried with rigid follow nodes and it was still very much a process in development - so it didn't slip past QA because there were no guidelines yet :)

I am glad you brought my attention to it though because its an easy fix and I want to rework it so that the laces have bodyparts and can be posed - one of my pet peeves is laces hanging straight in defiance of gravity and the system I have now works well to help with that.

I'll get an updated version of the shirt submitted to testing. In the meantime if you need a shirt loading by itself with laces its really easy to resave as a wearable. Load the full wearable with laces, select genesis in the scene tab, then choose file - save as - wearable preset. Give it a name in the dialogue that appears, then untick everything except the shirt and make sure the laces are ticked as well and save. That's all you have to do :)

Great news! I'll very much look forward to that improvement - thank you Mada!

I got it and I was wondering why do I not remember getting it.  Then I realized it was part of Michael 8 pro bundle I got.  I really need to start rendering more.

Thank you for popping in, @Mada. I've got the laces on the shirt, now. smiley I've even added dForce, with a weight map to keep the collar and laces from moving too much. It dForces quite nicely. I really appreciate the "strings" have three bones each for posing, though once I'm further along, I'll try dForcing those as well.

I'm trying to do something more "historical" and I love that this shirt works as well with older era clothing as it does with the pants in the set.

And I really appreciate that you'll be updating the shirt.
