Gift Cards

I want to make sure I am clear on this. I can buy a gift card for myself and use it as store credit--sort of like putting money on account that I can use as stuff comes out that I want? I am not required to buy it for someone else, right?

So like this current sale would mean that if I buy a 100 dollar card, I pay 80 bucks, but get 100 dollars I can use for daz stuff, plus the 20 % discount on anything else I buy in the same order, and 30 dollars off daz originals that are in my cart?

Please tell me if this is correct, because I have never in like 11 years of dealing with Daz paid attention to their gift card sales as I assumed i had to buy for someone else.

Actually, to get the 20% discount, you would have to purchase a $101 gift card (I just bought $100 and it was $90, plus 10% off and $10 off DAZ originals (I used my 20% off with a $200 GC I purchased earlier))

Yep, the stated parameters say it must be over $100 to get the 20% off with and $30 dollars worth of DOs. So, the lowest amount that will work is $100.01.

  • I've always purchased GCs in even dollar amounts. I never knew you could have a purchase with a decimal amount (provided it was over the $1 minimum).

i did $101 but didn;t check out ... $80.80  ... but then I added in DO stuff .. as long as it didn;t exceed $30. ... then later can still use the 100GC for whatever. I  assume thoiugh that the PC+ coupons would also work on the later purchase? so it could work out really well.

I would give it a try,

When I purchased my $200 GC for $160 earlier today, I added over $30 worth of DAZ originals to my cart. At that point my total was about $169. I used the PC+ coupon for $6 off DAZ originals and checked out for $163.98.

The full price total on the DAZ originals was $142 which I basically got for 3.98 with the GC promotion and the PC+ coupon. Plus the GC itself ($200 store credit for $160).

You also get $28 annual PC membership if you buy $101 GC. So you need to spend $108.80 if you want them both.

I have of course discovered the down side of this little venture. Yes, 20 % of the gift card was essentially free money/store credit to spend. But store credit always feels like found money which means I am way more easily tempted to part with it. The Daz marketing folks should do consultations for other companies on how to seduce customers into  buying LOL!

+1 to this! It's just so much easier to part with Store Credit than "real" money - it slips through my fingers and into my cart so quickly. blush

But I always do GCs for myself (mostly when there's a good offer on them) because I'm non-US and one big transaction is much more convenient that a lot of little ones, especially if I can time it to catch a better conversion rate.

I bought a $125,00 GC and actually paid it $100 (converted in €, about 90,00, another saving for me, since I'm Italian), I think it's the best deal; sadly enough, for some reason I misunderstood the DO offer: I thought that, instead of being discounted items you purchased with the GC, you were going to receive a coupon, so at the moment I didn't put anything else in cart; shame on me for not having considered things better before buying!

About the store credit, I have a littl excel table to manage my monthly budget for Daz; the gift card expense was 3 months worth. I used store credit for 30 € on february, will try to remain in the monthly limit in march and april

Good luck with that budget! devil

On the subject of missing the free $30 of DO's - if you raise a ticket to Customer Support saying which DO(s) you would have bought and explaining your mistake, they may add them to your product library, or if they cost more than $30 they may let you buy them and refund the $30 to your store credit. They are usually very helpful.

    Indeed.

There is a cost to free, always.
