[Solved] Iray Strategies - Rendering individual figures of your scene for post work in photo editor?
In order to achieve motion blur in action shots, I often find myself needing to render specific figures in a scene as a png with nothing else in the background. The difficulty I am having is that removing background props often alters the amount and hue of the light that is reflected onto the figure I am trying to isolate.
Is there a way to tell Iray to not render an object, but still include that object in it's light calculations? I thought that the "visible in render" toggle might be the solution, but I still had the same issue.
For now, I render the scene, and then trace around the figure in a photo editor to isolated it into it's own layer. This can work, but hair is a nightmare.
If someone has a straight forward strategy for isolating figures from a scene into their own rendered layers, I will love you forever.
