Very strange just the same as we all know that the data folder was to hold all the "geometry" and uv info for what's going on in the main workflow view port..

Upon more searches I found this from Google: https://direct.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3763716/#Comment_3763716

My buddy Frank stated that there has been issues with McAfee in the past and DIM and guess what my new routers's built in firewall is.... McAfee!  Grrrrrrrrrr

  • Happened to me last night. so, I stopped DIM, restarted it, and then it worked. Although... I must say, the download speeds from Daz lately have been pretty lousy. Everything else is blazingly fast - Youtube, streaming, Netflix - but Daz/Dim is painfully slow, sometimes taking nearly 10 minutes to download a figure. Methinks that there is something going on with the program(s) somewhere.

We shall see. With Wave, I shouldnt' have speed issues but it would be nice to figure out a way to allow DIM through the stupid McAfee firewall built into the router!  Grrrrrrrrrr

I'd like to think there's be an M to RTF .. cheeky  What make and model of router is it?  A quick web search suggests it's an Arris SURFfboard

AV's are often worse than the virus risk, I am back to just Malwarebytes and Microsoft security essentials as every one I tried gives me grief including the free AVG, my PC was playing up terribly with that blocking and checking  everything I used even though I had cleared each thing including DIM btw

sucks when its in your router though

Yea, on the rig it's MS Essentials but the router has it's own built in Firewall that uses McAfee.

Not chased it down too hard as I am not sure of the exact model you have, but from what I can see you can disable/remove the McAfee account on the router, either via an 'app' or using the reset button.  Seems a bit damned clunky to me, but then I am not a fan of those companies who think they know what we need/want better than we do cheeky

Just got off the horn with them and sure enough, they disabled it from their end and my DIM is working fine again!  WHEW!

Mods, you can lock this thread if you want.  It's solved. Thanks!
