Question about types of files......

I have been reading about models available in FBX file format, and in gITF format.

Can these be used by DS? If so, how are they loaded?

They hapen to be Star Trek free ship models.

Thanks.

Neither format can be imported into DS, but the .FBX format is very common and most modeling apps can convert it to .OBJ which DS can import

You can Drag and Drop FBX files into Daz (sometimes).

At worst, you get some distortion if there's rigging and/or animation.

In other words, try Drag&Drop and see.

Other than that, there's lot of options for conversion(s).

    --- from .fbx to obj....

The newest version of Wings3D will convert either of those I think.

I have imported FBX into DS before.  Results will vary based on how it was exported from the other program.
