New OS, new install? Any tips?

Hey gang.  I just upgraded my system with a lovely fast SSD drive with a fresh OS to boot from, which obviously carries with it the penalty of having to re-install all my software.  My old HDD is still in the machine as a secondary drive, and all my Daz stuff is on it.

I'd like to re-install Daz to the faster drive, but was wondering what the best way to help myself make this easy would be.  Install Daz to the SSD, but somehow tell it about all the products on the HDD?  I seem to vaguely remember a way to add a content library once Daz is installed.  I did it once but I don't remember what I did.  Or just delete all and start fresh with a total re-download?

I noticed DIM recognized the old install ... do I need to remove that from DIM before re-installing?

Thanks!

  • DIM gets its list of installed content from, by default, the Manifests folder in the Public Docuemnts/Daz Install Manager folder (I think that's the right name) and those fiels do specify the location on disc. If you set DIM to isntall to a new location you can, in the Installation tab of Settings (the gear icon at top-right), tell it to install updates to the current isntall path isntead of the original. In DS you use the Content Directory Manager (Edit>Prefrences>Content tab) to edit, add, and remove directories. Robe also has sample scripts, which you can run by downloading and dragging into the DS Viewport, that will update DS to use the DIM paths or vice versa:
