Zollacce Outfit helmet

If anyone has bought the Zollacce Outfit from today's sale, is it possible to remove the helmet? If it's a case of having to hide it via the surface settings, does it leave a believable "collar" at the neck of the body part of the outfit?

Comments
I was just looking to see if anyone else had answered this in the forums, I would also like to know if there is a way to reasonably remove the helmet and have it look ok.
It's odd; none of the promo images show the helmet off, and there's no mention of the helmet as a separate part.
However, Oso3D has posted a render showing the outfit on Christian (auto-fitted), and there's no helmet shown. His comment doesn't say whether he hid the helmet using Cutout Opacity set to 0, or whether he just didn't add the helmet. But as far as I can see -- the image is a little dark -- it doesn't look too bad without the helmet.
Ah thanks, I missed that! It is a little dark around the edges though, was concerned about jagged gaps in between. Looks like it probably works pretty decently though.
I used the surface tab to "opacity remove" the helmet.
So strange, that after all this time, a vendor would make an outfit that is all one piece.
No separate gloves, boots, pants etc......
I was surprised.
I think I could change it to be brighter/more visible. And yeah, it's all one piece, I just hid the helmet. I've also tried hiding the arms and legs, and it looks great, IMO; you don't get that 'torn model' look some things get.
Agreed, odd design choice for sure.
A lot of that vendor's products tend to be all one piece. Great products, but for that simple fact I've passed up certain items, such as this one. Other products I've not minded as much about the one part thing, because I liked them so much, but it's still a bit of a disappointment. Like the Jiwoo Azrael outfit ( https://www.daz3d.com/jiwoo-azrael-for-genesis-8-females ) I loved this and bought it instantly, but it's like all one part, boots, pants, cape, shirt, armor, belt all of it is one bit. Granted, it kind of goes with the aesthetic that the boots and pants are one part, but the cape/shirt/belt/armor? Meh, oh well, the artist makes beautiful products, hope to get many more of them in the future, but it would be nice to have the specific parts broken up.
That is a good point. I don't purchase much from this vendor but bought the Janet Heel & Socks addon and was really surprised to see it was all one mesh and not socks AND shoes.
I think in this case there's an argument to be made; the outfit does a rather solid job keeping the flow of the helmet into the main outfit.
In past cases, I've seen 'sealed suits' where the helmet separates obviously from the neck, and it's like... uh.
Here...
Artist makes fabulous shoes too, but rarely includes any material/surface zones; so, whatever textures are given are all there can be, other than changing the diffuse.
One of my key points when buying, is that an outfit has options i.e. can be used with other items of my choice. So I generally wouldn't buy amything that is not listed as separate parts.
Here's my two cents worth on the helmet. Maybe as this PA grows, they will include materials/shaders/morphs to remove parts but for now, it can all be done in the Cutout Opacity slider. In the rendered examples I tried to show the neck area with and without the helmet. I also changed the original shader material files (Photoshop) to get a suit lit with red. I almost didn't buy the Zollacce outfit, but now I'm glad I did. Also, here is the shader layout. Each of these items can be hidden individually.

Your mileage may vary.
OK, I couldn't resist trying it out. While I like content better when things are broken down into separate elements (and have more material zones), simply hiding the helmet with Cutout Opacity=0 works fine for me.
(render not fully converged, which is why it's a bit speckly).
I wonder if it would be possible to contact this PA and gently let them know how important these things are and how offering options and also showing those options in promos can make the difference between lackluster sales and pretty great sales.
If you file a support ticket, they should pass it on to the PA
