Artists You'd Like To See Return To Daz &/or Stay at Daz (not Leave)

In view of all the PA's that appear to have dissapeared into thin air thought this thread should exist.

I'll start with Dreamland.
This is how everything pertaining to Dreamland shows at this moment in time & or undefined. Guess Daz is sweeping the floor.
I'd like to see a bunch come here because I hardly ever go to Rendo anymore, but I guess a vendor's gotta go where the best offer is ;). Who knows...they might have made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Then again, Dreamland's been at Rendo for a VERY long time :). Maybe he just feels more comfy there.

I may be out to lunch but I am seeing more and more 404's. Wondering if it has something to do with D'Force.
Me too. I'm too old to be a groupie and although I wrote a book called stalk, it really isn't my forte.
Ken Gilliland and his critters. But it's unlikely that will ever happen, after his split with Daz3D.
I am perfectly fine with vendors selling at any store they want to. Competition is always a good thing and I love options. Besides, I don't use DIM and have a knowledge of where my files go so I am not tied down to a specific app or store because of it.
Besides, DAZ is way to framily friendly at times and I like seeing what I am buying which is never the case with character addons here.
This is true. I would like to see a texture before I buy it.....ALL of it ;). Even tho I don't really do nudes - it just seems more thorough on my part...lol. Also, the vendors seem more approachable there and I don't feel so weird emailing someone with a question. It's not that this place isn't friendly, it's just that Rendo feels a little more "loose" that way. I dunno. Probably just me :P Other than that, I hardly ever go there anymore (the bickering was just getting to be too much for me), so I hang out here.

It turns out the change was DreamlandModels' decision. Here's a quote from another thread.
I spend most of my time here, (and most of money as well,) but occasionally I shop at Rendo or Hivewire. I became a fan of RedzStudio long before she came to Daz. Same with Phoenix1966. I don't think I'd want all my favorites to come to Daz, though. Competition is healthy for any market.
Nope... I'm with you on that.
For me it's like DAZ Shop is where the "real artists" sell. Those, that think of themselves more as "artists" than as vendors. So the stuff they do is often more artsy than useable...
And at Rendo there's the people who try to sell stuff. Not always perfectly made. Often it's only some textures. But then there's all the stuff with options that most vendors here at the DAZ store seem to ignore..
Most of them. :D Seriously, I'm lazy, and Daz's install methods help a lot. Manually installing content, backing them up, etc, that's a nightmare. There are a couple of PAs at other places that I would buy a huge amount of stuff from if only they were at Daz.
I'm sad to see Dreamland go. I think I have most of his Daz-compatible stuff, and maybe even the Poser-only ones that were in the Daz store. Knowing myself, I highly doubt that I'll be buying his stuff from other stores. Not because I have anything against other stores, but it's a lot easier to stick to Daz's install methods.
most of Dreamland's stuff I own I bought from Rendo anyway even after they were at DAZ too .........
I totally agree, @Ati. Unfortunately, there's a finite amount of time available to spend on 3D related stuff for me, and I'd rather spend it working on NPR algorithms (as opposed to downloading/installing/organizing content). The way DAZ maintains my library of content online, and handles downloads & installs without me having to spend seat time in front of a computer is a huge plus.

Manual install is same easy and you don't have to back up anything. Unless you fear DAZ might change something, lose your account, or you fear you might be banned for something. In that case maybe you should download and throw on a hard drive to keep in your closet.
I download and backup EVERYthing I buy online because I do not trust the future of the internet, and some of the small webs I buy VSTs (music gear) from vanished 6 months later, so good thing I didn't just install from their site because I would never be able to put those things on a new computer one day. There has also long been talk of charging per minute or megabyte for internet use in the future. So downloading the stuff now while it is essentially free might be money saved later.
But hey I'm weird. I buy software - no subscription games in my studio. And yeah I back that up too.
Whilst having all my favourite PAs, past, present, and future, all available via s single shop, I woudl rather they make their works available via whatever method they choose.I would, and have, bought stuff by MEC4D from here and elsewhere, likewise SickleYield, and doubtless a few others.
I agree totally , well said
Sanctum Art, Capces?
I don't care where Sanctum Art sells, as long as they have product to sell, I missed out of getting the Horde figure when it was for sale..
Same. Every store offers something different. Heck, Rendo had some non-pornographic openly gay & lesbian pose sets for the Genesis era (that weren’t hidden under a dog whistle like “brotherhood” or “girlfriends” as they often are) and then a few months later, Daz finally had a set available (but, sadly, nothing since).
If there’s no competition, then things get super stagnant and uncreative.
Yes Sanctum Art ! best creatures ever !!!
Micheal Rak (Sanctumart ) completely left the poser Daz content market a decade ago
For the gaming and movie CGI/VFX Industry.
I beleive Some of his work was used as CGI elements in "Prometheus"( Aliens franchise)
He made Poser/Daz products that are unmatched in detail to this day IMHO.
The bridge and floor chamber of Galactus's Ship, in my film are from Sanctumarts RDL7 sci fi sets
as well as the Hazmat suits.
I communicated with him, via a third party, a few years ago and He remembered
my forum user name and how much I used to defend him against
certain people who used to disparage him for not personally hanging in the forums
to play "kissyface" with the masses.
As token of his appreciation he "Poserized" one of his sci models
On last time and sent it to me( attached pic)
The last Sanctumart Poser/Daz product ,ever released, is in my posession
and it too is being used in my Sci fi films.

Vanishing Point has a great catalog of environments and vehicles so I was sorry to see them leave the DAZ store so fast.
On the other hand, I'm happy to note that The Managment has returned to DAZ, so the Barlow House is back for sale.
