I'm Confused. Shouldn't i13 products be in the Temp PC+ promo?

Jack, Richard, Ann… Anybody from Daz, really. I'm having trouble understanding this Ad.

First, the top half of the banner made me immediately think of the last several days of the Holiday Rewards sale, which featured ironman13 products quite heavily, (One was even titled, "Ironman Temp PC Items" and out of 324 products, 282 were from i13.)  I had a few items in my cart on Christmas Eve, from the "Temp items for PC+" page, (313 i13 products out of 392 total,) only to find them full price on Christmas Day. (Bummer, but my own fault.) So I thought, good, I can still pick up those bundles. But there isn't a single irnoman13 product in this offer.

Second, I'm seeing a number of items I remember from the PC+ Anniversary Sale that were "PC+ For A Day" products from the PAs, and while temporary, they were never advertised as "Temp PC+".  I don't think any of those were in the Holiday Loyalty Sale either, but I could be mistaken on that. (@MelanieL can confirm one way or another, I'm sure.) I'm not being picky, I'm pointing out why the wording is confusing to me.

Finally, I'm seeing a lot of PC+ products in the sale, including a large number that are normally $1.99 for members anyway, so that's harldy "back for $1.99 Each".(Is it possible the guys setting up the website got it wrong? That the Magento rule should have cutoff PC+ items with a PC+ price less than $2.99?)

Anyway, I hope one of you can get an official word on what's supposed to be in the sale, and help cure me of my confusion.

Nope, it was done several times a few days ago (Dec 21st, 22nd and 24th).

The selection always change. You missed the opportunity to get these items and bundles at $1.99.

  • Hmmm.... it's the wording that makes you think that ALL temp PC+ items will be included.

The bundles for $1.99 were only offered for one day, and even then only a fraction of the ones offered during the Anniversary sale were there. The other days it was only the poses, outfits and environments offered at 1.99 EACH. Some of the bundles and items were in the PA category, which made it confusing for people.

Exactly. "It's the wording" pretty much sums up advertising in general.

Catch up sales at Daz usually include all the items previously offered, in that sale, up to that point of a sale. By using the term "catch up sale" it sets up certain expectations for regular Daz customers. We expect a second chance to buy something we passed up earlier in the sale.

I honestly don't recall hundreds of already PC+ items in the Temp PC+ or PC+ For A Day promos.. Yet this catchup has over 1400 PC+ products. Not "temp pc products, but actual PC+ products! And as I mentioned in the OP, many, if not most, of those PC+ products are $1.99 for members every day. That's not a "sale", and that's why I question their inclusion.

I know. I have screenshots of those promos. The question is, shouldn't the items in those "Temp PC+" promos be in the catch up sale? It just feels like a big snafu that not a single i13 product is included in the catch up sale, when i13 figured so prominently in all three promos leading up to Christmas Day.

As for the i13 bundles I missed out on, it's no big deal. I didn't really need any of them. There were three, and I can only remember one of them, with the help of my browser history!

Yea there are a lot of the temp PC+ items that aren't included in this catch up sale. Either a mistake or terribly worded advertisement. Got kinda excited when I saw it then bummed when actually looking through it.

Well, they also say over 1800 items, and there are 1803 in the list, so I'd say that they have put up what they wanted to. The wording of the ad is unfortunate, though.

It looks to me as if many of the PC+ items are ones that usually sell for $3.99 & up, so getting those for just $1.99 is a pretty good deal. Assuming they're meant to be in the sale, that is. frown :confused Byrdie is confused:

Yeah, this was a pretty major dissapointment and  definite case of "let The buyer beware".  The verbiage generated by the DAZ marketing people has been getting increasingly less accurate and more filled with what those in the advertising business call weasel-wording over the past few years, but as of late I sometimes wonder if the people writing the ad text are even aware of what products will even be in a sale.  That everything is being done at the last minute and with very poor advanced planning was certainly in evidence with the ham-fisted wrap up of the recent loyalty sale, in which the additional loyalty bonuses were prominently advertised in multiple locations as being valid through the 31st  until suddenly they weren't and cut the whole promotion off on the 26 th without explanation.  Given that Daz consistently has the best pricing in the industry, and CAN run great and exciting sales promotions like the recent PC+ sale, why they feel they have to resort to these kind of high jinks is a complete mystery to me...

I don't think I've ever seen Ironman13 in PC+ in the past. I think this sale is just for things that are already PC+, so I woulnd't expect to see her things in here now.

There are a decent amount of items in the sale that aren't PC+ so that explanation doesn't really work. I actually thought that as well at first when looking through it. Cybersox's explanation is probably the most likely scenario. Still managed to spend a little bit so I guess mission accomplished Daz sales guys, mission accomplished.

Oh wow, you really missed out then :(. There was gobs of i13 stuff in the PC+ for a day sale this month. The items were PC+ FOR A DAY. That's what made the sale so nice. Entire environments, huge pose packs...all kinds of stuff. Even some bundles. $1.99

In the past year or so, Daz has made the new coupon active early in the day so one can use them on the first day of the next month regardless of where you live in the world. That means it may be possible for you to use one of those coupons on your $1.99 haul. The Save6 coupon works on PC+, and many of the temp PC+ are actually Daz Originals, so it you split it up accordingly, you might be able to get $12 off. Get 6-7 DOs in one order, and then 10 or more in the second. Try changing the date of the coupons to 01-19…

There were a few more, I got 4 of them, but there were others which I didn't get, either because I already had (part of) the bundle, or because the specific bundle wasn't a priority to me. The only two I13 bundles that I'm not sure about whether I saw them at $1.99 or not, are the more recent Foxy Lounge bundle and the Dorm Bundle.

Anyway, at 1.99 for a bundle with environment, props, clothes and poses, they were extremely good deals, especially for newer Daz users, but even older users could find some useful props and clothes in those sets. One can never have enough garbage bins, tires, cups or potted plants, so to speak.

Uncheck "Hide Items I Own" and check "Only Show PC+". Now go to the last pages of the sale. I show 120 items per page and in the last pages I'm seeing products with 4-digit SKUs. There are a lot of RDNA products, too, and those have higher numbers, But any PC+ products released as PC+ when new will be $1.99 normally, if they were released before September 2014. (That's when I joined, and at that time, Daz hadn't started rolling out higher priced PC+ products.)

I think it's great that Daz is giving us the opportunity to get newer, higher priced PC+ products for only $1.99, even if none of the newer, dForce items are included. However, by proclaiming this as a Temp PC+ catch up sale, Daz created the expectation that all the products from those promos were included. If I were feeling more industrious, I could check my screenshots and tell you just which items besides the iroman13 products, (if any,) were excluded.

It's not so much that I really, really want those i13 products as it is just such a big disappointment to read the adcopy, think "ah, second chance for those bundles," and then find the products listed don't match the verbiage.

I'm sorry. I meant there were three bundles I had in my cart, not three bundles total in the sale. Oops. blush

And yes, I agree, one can never have enough "stuff" to make a scene look less sterile and more lived in. Life is messy, after all.

She.  Ironman13 is a lady and, if I recall correctly, Fugazi1968 is her husband, and I3D-Lotus is her daughter.   .

If it helps, they probably don't do it intentionally. I deal with this exact stuff for work and there have absolutely been times when a combination of crossed wires, not enough communcation, stress, and a ridiculously packed schedule resulted in honest mistakes that looked to our audience like we were being disingenuous. There's never any risk of them getting scammed, because our business model doesn't work that way and our customer support would just handle any actual issues. But if something smells off it's hard for people to believe that a big company would just...mess up and that we don't have a team of ruthless marketing sharks carefully crafting every word to maximize profits (in a lot of cases it's one copywriter, and they're tired, and nobody responded to their review emails). We often can't even explain, because it would look like we're doubling down on an insulting lie.

I'm impressed at how well they've run these big holiday sales, especially following on the heels of the previous huge sales, and I'm willing to bet the volume and sustained momentum accounts for a lot of the errors. The most DAZ can do in prevaricating is get people to click through to a sale they otherwise might not have, but that's more likely to be a function of serving multiple purposes (make it sound attractive, but with limited space for detail) than intentionally aiming for overhype. There's a super high chance that someone who buys something mistakenly due to vague wording will just go to customer support, so the net result would probably be a strain on those resources.

I'd be surprised if their copywriters do know all of the items in a big sale like this, because that's a lot of info to keep track of that isn't going into the header--and unless it's part of their job to accuracy check, even knowing the items might not click with a lot going on. To put out graphics, sales banners, and web updates at the rate they do is likely hectic, and seems to go pretty smoothly despite that. But even the best process breaks sometimes.

I found a couple of things in today's $1.99 sale that weren't even Daz Originals. Consider the following:

    https://www.daz3d.com/joliette-outfit-for-genesis-8-female-s

    https://www.daz3d.com/300x-ev-suit-for-genesis-8-females

    https://www.daz3d.com/heavy-powersuit and

    https://www.daz3d.com/the-cosmic-knight

Every one is a standard PA item (two from Valandar! Thx, d00d.)

Much as I would have loved a few of i13's bits and pieces, I'll have to settle for her hubby's nighty ;)
