HDRI

So, I'm lookingf or forest HDRI. There's some like maybe this:

https://www.daz3d.com/ultrahd-iray-hdri-with-dof--outdoor-pack-2

But it says IRAY. is this an iray only HDRI?  I want to use the HDRI in another program like Carara, which doesn't use IRAY.

The actual HDRI files are in ".hdr" format. If you can use that type of file in your program, or can convert them into a format used by your program, you should be able to use them. Just ignore all the Daz Studio preset files and look for the HDRI files in the /Runtime/Textures/Cake and Bob/ folder on your computer.

Edited to add: There is nothing Iray specific about the HDRI files themselves. It is the Daz Studio Render Settings presets that are Iray specific, and you will ignore all those.

And remember, if you buy something that doesn't work for you, you can return it for a refund within 30 days.

  • There are some forest/woods HDRIs for free on HDRI Haven that you might want to experiment with before spending any money.

I only use HDRIs for HDRI Haven now. For me they are spot on and free. Nice to give him something though like becoming a Patron. :) I download a small one and the 16k. I use the small one to position the rotation and then when I am happy I swap it for the 16k when doing a final render. Just saves memory and waiting times when setting a scene up. Mind you I only use Iray these days.
