Just curious as to why products from Daz update the metadata so often while products from other companies do not.....  What is it the need to change so often????

Daz Studio metadata? The products from other stores aren't equired to stick to Daz guidelines, and may not even attempt to use the ame structure - they also lack an easy way to deliver metadata updates (separate from a full product update).

So you are asking what metadata is, rather than seeing a disctinction in how it is handled? Metadata (in the case of Daz) describes the content via categorisation and, in DS 4, compatibility. Having items categorised in a database rather than moving files around on disc allows users to arrange their content as they wish without breaking the abaility to use installers to place and (most often a problem for manual file organisation) update the content.

The actual reasons can vary... from adding metadata where none previously existed (e.g., old product, added files, renamed files, moved files, removed files, etc), to correcting inaccuracies and/or inconsistencies (e.g., typos, mis-categorization, new categorization, new compatibility, etc).
