Windows update caused a weird thing to happen, is there a fix?

Hi,
I know I could go to the Windows 10 forums but I always seem to get solid advice from you good folks faster and easier to understand.
So in a recent Windows 10 update something strange happened to my right click menu. When I hover down to the "New" flyout menu it seems to freeze. It's not really frozen but it's taking it's sweet time, like about 30 seconds if I want to create a new text or folder (so for now I created a blank folder on my desktop I can just drag and copy where ever I need one fast). SO not sure what's going on with this weird happening and I have no idea where to look in order to fix it. I wrote MS about this but it's not fixed yet.
Any ideas and things I could try to speed this little area of the right click menu up again to normal fly out and create speed that it SHOULD have??
Thanks so much!

Has the New menu gained any entries?
Nope, still what was there before but just freezes for like 30 seconds before allowing me to either create a new folder or text or what ever! All the other right click options including menues are still working as expected, just that "new" one! Weird!
My Windows 10 has started doing that with the latest update and when you see behavior like that when it was working fast before I can only guess that the UI is being heavily scanned for malware type behavior now. I've noticed in the past year Windows 10 is really getting serious about that in so many ways.
I guess that means I'll need to replace my 7 year old i7 laptop next fall or winter with something much newer. Money money money.
Very strange just the same. It's only the ONE fly out menu that's behaving like that so makes no sense to me!
My does it on practically all fly-out / popup menus now but the worse by far is the one when you right-click in a (file system) Explorer window to bring up the pop-up menu (I'm usually wanting to create a new folder with that particular menu).
Ctrl Shift N creates it a lot quicker.
thanks
How about on the desktop? OH and on Windows 10 forum there is a thread for this issues. Seems we are not a few with this issue... it's a known bug! Some say they are fixed now with some update but not me!
