can V4/V5 wet spec maps be used with GF3 geo shell?

I've tried to load wet spec maps into the spec channels of a GF3 geo shell thinking that if the shells are UV independant I may get the effect I was after.....I tried loading the wet specs into the the opacity channels as well however no success with either.

should or could this approach  work?

thanks

Geoshells use the same UV sets as the figure they're based on. I think if your figure supports UV1 and UV2 you can use an UV1 texture on the figure and an UV2 texture on the shell, but I'm not sure of this.

And G3F doesn't support V4 or V5 UVs, unless you use the converters by Cayman Studios.

what do you mean by UV1 and UV2?

I'm pretty sure she means two diferent UV sets, one on the base model and one on the Geometry Shell - which is indeed possible.

could someone provide an example of a figure that supports more than one UV?

and I do have the Legacy UV's for GF3 which I've used to convert V4 textures that have wet spec mats which works well however I have a problem with the seams showing....it would be sweet to be able to somehow get a wet effect for the newer GF3 and GF8 textures and that would work in Daz/Reality.

I find UV sets confusing....so  when Leana spoke of a figure being able to support multiple UV's is she simply referring to how the for instance Genesis 3 base figures use different UV's for  all of the different characters?

or is she referring to how a figure like GF2 can use a base UV as well as the V5 UV?

thanks and top of the holidays to all

Yes, to both - each surface on a figure can choose any loaded UV Set
