Black iray artefacts
Hey,
I get very often black artefacts on the eys, skin or cloth of my figures.
This happens very often if the figure is outside of the ground grid. If I move the figure back into the ground grid the artefacts are normally gone.
But at the moment I render a interior scene which (which is in the ground grid) where I also expierence such black arterfacts on the the skin of the characters (See attachment).
The black freckels on the screenshot can be easily removed with Photoshop, but I currently render an other picture where the half of the forehead is black.
Any idea what couse this?

No, but I've had it happen on occasion as well. I think it has something to do with the hair but I'm not sure.
Having things offset from the origin can certainly cause issues - I haven't had tiem to test this but the other day someone wa saying having things on the negative Z side (the back half) was most likely to trigger the issue.
Interesting, I had "Memory" instead of "Speed" in my iRay options, because of some instances. I removed the instances and set it to "Speed" and now the black artefacts are gone. But I had these effect also in images without the "Memory" settings.
However, I get this annoying effect very offten (mostly when things are outside the ground grid in very large scenes). It would be very cool if these could be fixed at some time in the future. As a workaround a feature to move the ground grid would be helpfull ;) Otherwise I have to put everything into a group and move that group... and grouping of Figures takes always forever...
Hair is unliky, had it also on jeans ;)
The grouping slowness bug is fixed in the DAZ Studio 4.11 beta.
