Why no Genesis 3 or 8 wet effect spec maps suitable for 3Delight?
in The Commons
there's alot of Genesis 3 or 8 wet effects out there for Iray but none that I've found that are suitable for Daz/Reality....I have wet spec maps for V4 or V5 that will work when using legacy UV's however I would prefer to be able to wet effect the newer textures.

another thing I've been wondering about... there are no G3/G8 products it seems that use a geoshell for tattoos or water/wet effects however there's a lot for GF2.
has anyone come across geoshell effects for G3/G8?
There are many geoshell tats and effects packages for G3/G8. here are some

As for the first question, geoshells are a newer DS feature and last time I checked Reality had support for them. As for being 3DL, I have never used it.
thanks for the reply however I was aware of those products....guess I should of said I couldn't find any G3/G8 geoshell effects suitable for Daz/Reality....I don't use 3Delight either.
Daz is the company; do you mean Studio, and are you referring to Iray, 3Delight or some other renderer. I thought from the title you meant 3Delight, now I'm not sure.
nicstt
I use Reality exclusively and I realize now I should say Studio/Reality instead of Daz/Reality.....I've found that usually if something is made for 3Delight it will render in Reality where as if it's optimised for Iray it may not which is why I mentioned 3Delight in the title of this thread.
is this a wrong assumption?....or can the geoshell tatts and effects you've mentioned be used in Reality?
It's not a wrong assumption, but keep in mind that Reality has it's own way of doing many things since it is preparing the scene for Luxrender, so neither Iray or 3DLight will work as is since nothing in the store is set for use in Reality/Luxrender.. I haven't used Reality in quite awhile, but I believe it now supports geoshells, but you will have to plug in textures and tweak it yourself as with most other reality textures. You could try asking Paolo here http://preta3d.com/forums/

oh yes Reality has no problems with geoshells and I've had good success using them to achieve deep and reflective paint on vehicles.
so to recap you're telling me that the geoshell products you listed will not work in Reality?.....or that they might with some tweaking and adjustment?
thanks
They probably won't load and work as they do in DS, but with tweaking you could probably get them to work. That is the pain of using an external renderer and the main reason I stopped using reality and focusing on Iray, made my life so much easier with a more quick and streamlined workflow.
