Search forums --- how?

no matter what I search for, a lot of stuff comes up with absolutely nothing about what I am searching for. Worse search function I've ever tried in my long life on the internet.

Is there a secret? Some sort of code for effective searching?

Go to google, type in what you are looking for, and add this to the end of the query: "+site:daz3d.com/forums" (without quotes).

Or link in my signature, and "Change forum search to google" script. This will enable you to use the searchbox in the forum but redirect the query to google.

yeah, I get much better results using google instead of the forum search. I can get great results from the store search, but not so much from the forum one.

Yeah I find it ironic that if you want to do a more refined and targetted search for something on these forums, Google is the way to go, rather than using the forum search.. With that in mind makes me wonder why there is a search function for these forums..

Yeah I have stopped using this forums search function ages ago since there is no way to refine a search or just to search one subforum, instead you end up with a whole load of hits to areas you don't want..

    variation on ati's suggestion:

just type site:daz3d.com or site:daz3d.com/forums in your browser's location/url field, followed by your search string.

The forum search has been broken for ages, I just hope  they'd fix it one day.
