Sickleyield Hat And Hair Helper for Genesis 3

There are different versions of this product for the different generations of Genesis, but I don't understand if I'm suppose to match the product to the specific generation of Genesis it was made for, or to the generation of Genesis that the hair was made for.  Like, if I have a Genesis 3 Female figure and the hair was made for Genesis 2, which version of the Hat and Hair Helper do I use?  Or can any version of the product be used on any hair for any generation?

Probably should be matched with the figure since that is how it is worded and the figure is listed in the Compatible Figures section. Now whether other generations hairs will work with it or not is another question.

To be more precise, the helper should fit the generation it is made for and then the hair is fitted to the helper. If it was the other way around, you would always get the autofit dialog...
