Okay so after experimenting, there is definately a server issue going on. One of the downloads I tried was 2 kb/s.

DIM is now using a CDN (Cloudflare) to - usually - improve the download experience. As far as can be determined everything is correct on the Daz side so it looks as if these issues are on the Cloudflare side, though the only issue they list (and say is resolved) invovles something called "Argo Tunnel".

Hmm, maybe they haven't caught on to this issues yet. It's a strange one.

I wonder if it's based on the file, some of the files on the server are having issues and some aren't.

Was wondering that as well or maybe from a different server/location. I had a 2 part download last hour. One was 500 Mb and the other 750 MB. The 500 one was completed in 3 seconds, the 750 one has an estimated time of 2 hours or more each of the 4 times I have tried to manually D/L it.

That's my experience as well, tried a few different files and they are either their normal super fast speed or they are extremely slow.

BTW Love your avatar! John Carter is one of my fav movie. Too bad it never got a sequel

Still slow here in Florida, too. I have 100 Mbs service and I am getting less than 1 Mbs download speed on DIM.

Haha thanks! I'm a big fan of the Barsoom books, actually I'm using DAZ to create some tokens and maps for the John Carter RPG that just got released :)

Well I hadn't read this thread before I started downloading today's purchases - the first three shot down in the twinkling of an eye (I think I caught sight of 12 Mb/s at the bottom of the DIM window) but the next four are struggling to maintain 500 Kb/s - that's pretty weird.

Me too. Hello fellow Floridian. Maybe it's another one of these Only in Florida kinda things. ;)

    Yes, I'm in the UK.

ETA: Ooh, while I was typing that the speed suddenly shot up to 5 MB/s - I hope that lasts.

ETA 2: And now it's back to 400 Kb/s or so. This is mad.surprise

It's not even 400 Kb/s for me with the file I'm trying to download, more like 50 - 30 Kb/s

Managed to get one file down at 200 Mbps, but getting 0 Kbps for the others I'm trying to download.

I've just downloaed 4 files at about 40-50 mb/s, the 4th started off a bit slower at under 10mb/s but then sped up: I'm in the UK.

I did two downloads today through DIM, about an hour ago:  the first one (about 0.5 GB in size) went through okay, but the second one (about 1.1 GB) stalled out at the beginning two or three times. On the next attempt it did succeed, so maybe the problem is clearing up.  (Unfortunately I didn't check the download speed.)

Edit: my internet connection has reset itself twice since I posted, so maybe there was a problem in our local cable internet loop in this case.

  • Success for me! My internet service only provides up to 10 megs but the last two suddenly started downloading at speeds near that. Thank you to whomever fixed it!

Me too smiley Now downloading the last three files and getting a speed of 8 Mb/s +

If someone at DAZ end did something, it seems to have workedyes

Could DIM problems cause connect and smart content to be slow?

  • barbultbarbult Posts: 26,424

All my downloads failed. When I restarted them later, they all finished fairly quickly.

  • Seems file-dependent for me. Some were super fast. Some, no matter how many times I reset, are slow as molasses.

Seems to be working again with no issues and in fact ALLOT faster!  Happy!  laugh

  • Just realised in hindsight I was having this problem last night. Downloading my weekly shopping splurge, two files snarfed down at the usual speed, then the third didn't want to go above 50kB/s. Cancelled and tried again a few times, then it finally worked and I was able to download everything else.
