Easy Environments: winter II install issues

Having issues with this product. Installing within Daz Studio 4.10

Everything else I have bought installed properly without a problem including another Easy Environment.

What I am getting is error when trying to open a file. Eventually found the log file and went down to the last thing and this is what the file says:

Have attached the screenshot.

Even more confused than when I had issues with installing G8.

  • Have you tried unisntalling the product, restarting DS, and reinstalling? It looks like a corruption issue, which - assuming the copy on the server is good - uninstall and reinstall should fix.

  • I have done that several times and its made no difference. Even restarted the computer too to see if that helped.

  • Yes, looks as if the files are bad. Try using the Install Manager version for now, I will report this (and you can if you want to be flagged when it is fixed https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us )

Richard, I tried your solution of installing via the DIM. The thumbnails now showup but the product still doesn't load. Errors similar to above. Can you add me to get flagged as well when this product is updated to work properly?

  • You would need to uninstall the Connect version before the DIM version worked - DS will always use the Connect version if it is shown as installed in the database.

After discussion with QA please try this:

    1. Uninstall Easy Environment Winter II (DIM and Connect)
    2. Restart DS
    3. In the Content Library under the Products tree find E>Easy Environments Winter II (uninstalled products are listed after installed, so you will have to scroll quite a way)
    4. Right-click on the folder and select Delete
    5. Connect>Login... (if necessary)
    6. Connect>Update Metadata
    7. Try installing Winter II again

If it still doesn't work please open a support ticket.

  • Thanks for all your help Richard

Still didn't work. Uninstalled it again.

    Opening a support ticket.

  • I just tried again, having forgotten to include the log with my report, and it installed correctly - please give it another try.

  • I had included a log with my support ticket.

Yay it now works. Thank you Richard.

Richard, the steps above worked for me. Thanks. Wish these sorts of things could be caught before release, but a technical fix like this is the next best thing.
