Animate2, problem with pinning?

Is it still not possible to pin a character so to keep their feet from shuffeling oddly when they move? I seem to remember that there were issues with that, or does my memory serve me wrong?

Hi, Yes Feet skating is still a flaw with aniblocks you don't usuaully get feet skating with hand custom keyframe animation. But for some reason mocaps seem to all have some kind of feet skating across the ground issue and as to date there is no plugin or script or fix for it that I know of other than correcting it with keymate.key-frame by keyframe
Ah thanks! So it is fixable, just not a quick fix. I am on the fence of getting Animate2, but the pinning issue always stopped me. I just watched some animations and all the feet did indeed were skating and hardly anyone seems to correct it. So I am wondering if it's just too big of a hassle, or too difficult.
For me & for the type animations i make its not worth the effort needed. if the sliding around is bad or uncorrectable. I just hide it with camera POV and don't show the feet on the ground.. .Maybe if you were going for real life photorealistic type animation of a full person walking then feet skating would be a big issue. Alot of stuff can be hidden with good film directing and Cam angles . I mean really when your interacting with someone in real life how often do you look at their feet
I do like a more realistic look, so the skating would be a thing for me. But If it's possible to adjust, even though labour intensive way, I am considering it :)
The reason Daz studio has this issue is because there is no IK solver
with foot contact and probably never will be because of the Daz pose control
systems priority over the rigging
We had this discussion a few months ago on the Reallusion forums
Even though we have Maya human IK and several built in tools to eliminate it
,foot sliding still happens iclone, particualry at the stopping point of the
canned locomotion clips.
I put this challenge to them:
Without pulling out your old DVD's/BluRays..
give me a detailed description of "Aragorn's" Footwear in"Lord of the Rings the two towers"
or "King Theoden's" perhaps??
or Matt Damon in any of the "Bourne Identity" movies
and these are in the action movie genre with fighting & kicking.
Cinematic shot framing rarely lingers on the feet during locomotion
unless it is some foot /shoe related plot point that furthers the narrative.
Understand...I get it.
People paid for the whole outfit and perhaps wish to show the ensemble
they put together from the Daz store.
However filmakers rarely shoot wide full body shots shots with everyones feet showing anyway
so why create more work for yourself when you can shoot above the knees
98 percent of the time.
BTW, fixing footsliding frame by frame never truly fixes it..trust me
I know this from my many painful years animating with Poser.
This feet skating talk reminded me of a youtube I saw. So now I've found it again. In this youtube video, Travis Davids talks about foot sliding error and how to fix it. Starts a little after 7 min into video. Hope this helps.

That is a great find Thanks for sharing it. . that looks like a pretty simple work around for the genesis & g2 . but unfortunately when i tried it on gensis 8 this trick didn't work for g3 & 8 because of the different bone structure I am guessing
