Good start package to buy for Black Friday
I am advanced user of computer based characters ( poser/maya/unity) and a character animator -- but coming back to Daz3d after years. Can someone recommend what is a good starting package of tools/content that I should try and buy while a sale is on. So what is the ultimate relistic pacakage ( and I do alot with animatin and faces) that will get me going. My newbie question is not sure which base Genisis I really should need and where it at ( URL) - is it free or is there a based set I need to buy to use the other great content. Said again what is a good base package for a person that wants to be an advanced user (realsitic charcaters with good face and cloths that will be animated and rendered at a high level)

Are using going to be using Daz Studio or apps like maya/Unity? I only ask since most of the products in the store are developed with DS use in mind and the quality and results will differ using other apps.
Since you say you do lots of animations, many of the serious animators here seem to get better results using outside apps, so as for realism, that will be up to you and how to set things up in the app of choice which will be different from the quality and look if used in DS.
Daz Studio comes with the free base genesis 8 figures, so I would explore the app and these figures to see if they will work for you before spending money of more specific characters, addons and/or plugins.
There is always a sale at Daz.
Try the free stuff first to see if it meets your needs. On the other hand, there is a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you are chomping at the bit to spend money, I guess you could return the items if they don't meet your needs. Daz Studio has limited animation capabilities built in. You should consider Animate2, Keymate, and Graphmate, it you intend to animate in Daz Studio. But be aware the aniblocks designed for one character generation usually need considerable tweaking to work on a different generation.
