Any way to create a pile of skin as though it's been shed?

I was wondering if there was a way to create a pile of the model's skin as if the host has shed it like a snake? So it looks like floppy clothing that has been discarded to the floor.

I did it a few times accidentally  clicking model instead of clothing 

its quite horrifying
