Anyone ever ask for refund?

I was wondering if anyone has ever asked for a refund on a product? I never have but I bought something that I’ve found isn’t going to work for me.

Sure, it happens! If you're not happy just go ahead! For me mostly when buying skins/ hair textures with those baked in shadows and highlights that make the product totally useless;)

  • So long as it has been less than 30 days you can just file a ticket and they'll refund you. They're super nice and friendly. You just give them the order number and let them know which product you want refunded (particularly if you bought more than one thing in that order). Make sure that you say in your ticket whether you want it refunded back to your payment method or if you want store credit.

Customer support is very friendly, helpful and understanding. No worries when you want to return something.

I wonder if they have ever refused anyone due to abuse. I see forum posts from some users at times that seem to indicate they use it on a whim nearly every other purchase and I wonder about that, of course I'll never find out, but curious nonetheless. I have used it twice for products that didn't work for me (took up way to many resources) or work as advertised.

I've only ever used it once, and I felt guilty about it.

It was a mohawk hair that looked completely awesome. After buying it, I found it only worked with poser. (there was no object to import into Daz studio)

I've done it. bought a couple of products that were harder to use than just trying to do the stuff manually ... light product and dforce thing. no problem.

I've only returned one item due to being unsatisfied with the product itself... it was a set that turned out to be almost all one piece, doors that didn't open, only a partial interior and really poor textures.  I explained those reasons and they took it back without issue.  On the other hand, I've done dozens of price protection exchanges when an item I'd bought within the previous thirty days had gone on sale at a much lower price and they've always been great about it..

Sure do. I have no problem returning items, especially those which have flaws. I buy a ton of stuff though, but I return 2-3  every few months.... Lately items have had problems not visible in the promos, such as scaling or huge texture files.

  • DAZ has been super nice and helpful when it comes to refunds. I spend a lot of money here, and sometimes I just end up getting a product that doesnt work for me and I will just not get any use out of it. I submit a ticket for a refund, and the next day I get a refund for store credit so that I can buy something that I will use. You have to request a refund within 30 days.

I have returned products, sometimes because the part of the product I wanted I couldn't use on its own, and sometimes because it's been an error of some sort etc. They are always nice and friendly, and I never had a problem with them. Occassionally they ask if there's any technical support they can give to make the product (if there is a error with it) but for the most part they don't ask anything and give me storecredit.

I've used it a few times; I have bought items on occasions knowing I can return it and have, but I post first asking for others feedback on the product first.

I've been buying DAZ stuff since the early 2000's and have spent thousands here but have requested refund less than 10 times.  Mostly because I bought a product that turned out to be for Carrara only.  Or, in the early days because it was a product I already had and the catalog wasn't yet smart enough to warn me.

I accidently picked up a Carrara set (I think it was called Country Lane)

It was in my early days and I loved the look in the previews Didn't realize it wasn't for DS and picked it up. By the time I went to use it, it was past the 30 days and now I'm glad because at some point later, I stumbled on the Carrara free trial and was able to export all the parts as obj and import them into DS :)

Whenever I have asked for a refund I would be given store credit instead. I sometimes paid with PayPal rather than a CC so maybe that was the reason. Must say that customer support is awesome here though! :)

  • I put in the ticket but it being Friday I may not here anything until Monday. I felt dumb because I bought something that can only be used in 3dl and not Iray. I didn’t see in the description that it was only 3dl. Anyway makes me feel a little bad.

Why? I use 3DL only, and if I buy an Iray only product that doesn't have the proper maps/mat zones to make it work for me, I surely ask for a refund:)

I do buy a lot every month and if I do not like something * which often you only know when you open it in studio * it goes back.

I have never heard a bad word about it. Sales Support is outstanding and very helpful.

  • I've returned a handful of items, for various reasons.

Once, I bought something I already had via a package.

Once, a product was way more complicated than the description let on, and I preferred to get a similar effect with postwork in photoshop.

There have been instances when I found that the function of a product wasn't what I'd hoped (material zones weren't what I'd expected, it wasn't possible to delete sections of a scene, etc).

I haven't had any issue with returns, EXCEPT when some "deal" was involved. In one promo, I bought the item just for the "extras" only to realize that one of the extras I chose was a useless (for me) Poser item. I asked to swap it out with another item, but since it was "free" CS refused to help. I had to cancel the original order and re-purchase. Luckily the sale was still on, because CS is very slow and it took days for them to respond. I was very irritated by the experience.

TLDR: Returns happen and usually work fine, so long as you aren't in a hurry and a special deal is not involved.

i've returned a few items, i ask for store credit.

i returned the daz horse 2 when i decided i wanted the horse bundle.  the extra textures werent offered as an add-on, was only available in the bundle.

would be nice if they offered 'upgrades' from the base figure to the pro bundle

Store credit is the default refund whatever payment method you use. With CC you can ask for a chargeback instead, don't know if you can with the other payment methods.

Considering the vast number of products that I have bought over the years that have NEVER found a role in any of my images, do you think they'd give me store credit for them? devil

Nope. Only the ones you bought in the last 30 days.

Daz will occasionally bend the 30 day rule. I purchased an item that was very broken. I opened a ticket and explained how it was broken. The ticket remained open for more than 30 days and I explained to daz that I was slightly peeved because the item was still not fixed after 30 days and I no longer had the option of returning the product because of that fact. As is typical, the sales team was very polite and apologized. They gave me the option to return the item even though it was past the 30 day mark.

Daz has the best refund policy of any of the 3d sites that I purchase from and they are always very professional about it. Sometimes they first ask if I need any technical asistance or they ask for specifics on why im returning an item but they always accomodate me in the end. I try not to return items, but if its broken or suffers from file bloat, I have no problems getting rid of it. Daz's refund policy is one of the reasons why I like shopping with Daz so much.

I second that, never had any problems with the sales team, or getting tech support:)
