My motivation for gallery posts is to share images I create that like, with the hopes that other people. It's fulfilling to get comments and/or likes, but it doesn't bother me if they don't get responses.
I am motivated by two drives. a Drive to improve my art and have it be graded with likes/comments. And the hopes for a comment on how I could of made it better.
I dont post every render I make, just the ones I think may get a little reaction from people, or when I have something to say and I express it with Art. These days its hard to keep up because its SO easy to make a render these days the Galley is quit literaly flooded. You can post an image at 7am, and by 7:35 AM your image is on page 2.
I'm pretty sure in all of us is still that child that wants to show mommy your drawing and hope she really likes it. Thats the spirit of an Artist... Why we have demonized such a fundemential part of why we make art in the first place is beyond me.
Personally, I think the gallery would be much improved if there was a posting limit. One image for each user per week? The gallery would then just represent the very best and it would be impossible for users to clog up page after page with slight variations on the same picture.
1 a week may be a little too strict. Perhaps 1 Per day though. I think that would be fair. Then people can pop off 4-5 renders and pick their one favorite... It would also encurage people to put more time into their art because their not unloading a new render every 4 hours.
