Using Particle Emitter to Create a Rain of Brass Petals

So, I'm generating a scene wherein I'd like to create a fountain of and scattered puddle of spent casings. Aside from tediously placing and positioning each individual shell, I was hoping there is a way to use a particle system to create the desired effect. I have SimTenero's Particle dealie, but there doesn't appear to be a way to assign any geometry that isn't already included in the product. From previous work in 3DSMax and Blender, I know it should be a simple process, but for the life of me I can't find any means to do this within Daz. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    ultrascatter and a "shower, fountain" geometry you can instance on maybe one of sickleyields rigged water or Jolabs props
