Was most of that Aguja bundle that we love and support...was most of that modeled in HEXAGON?

It's a tool, with all that is needed to create models; why is that surprising?
Those with skill can use any tool; their preferences may make a particular tool preferable as it has features that make different aspects easier or very much harder (or faster or slower); or it might be they just prefer its layout, and other more subtle aspects.
It's surprising because of the amount of "bad press" that Hexagon gets and how most models and morphs sold here uses Zbrush as a selling point. I'm well aware of the old addage "It's not the tool, it's the artist." However, this is the first time that I was aware that an item sold at DAZ was actually created in Hexagon. It wasn't in any of the ad pages (which I'm not surprised at all about that, being that they used Hexagon) and I think many of us just assume (which is completely wrong, I will admit) that most things are not made with Hexagon...even if we know it's capable of this calibur of work. :)
But before anyone takes this the wrong way...I THINK THAT'S ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
Hexagon and Zbrush Core are tools that can do what most of us basically need for it to do. I think that's awesome. I'm just trying to save money to buy that entire tutorial series that talkes about the creative process. :)
@Derry's Work can you share which tutorial series it is.. tuts are on my bucket list next..
Thanks
BTW I agree, the Aguja bundle is stunning!

I dont think Hexagon 2 is out yet (could be wrong). Just remember to save often with Hexagon as it can get unstable every now and then.
Hexagon is on version 2.5 now, and i believe also now in 64bit
Hexagon is on 2.5 according to my product library, and has been for some time.
Excellent! Thanks for letting me know. Ill have to check it out.
Oh you know what, im all kinds of mixed up this morning. Hexagon 2.5 is the version that ive used before. It is an old version. I believe that there was talk of a newer version than that. V3???
So yes, anyone using version 2.5, save often because it can become unstable.
And probably won't run at all in Mojave.
why not try it and see? instead of just making an assumption?
I've used Hexagon for most my products. Its a reliable modelling program. Of late I've diversified into newer options. But Hexagon gets the job done.
+ 100
I believe more products than you think have been made in Hexagon. Also, some people had problems with it crashing frequently on them. I didn't. It ran mostly fine for me (every modeling program I've used I've crashed from time to time....usually user error). Hexagon is a nice modeling program. It shouldn't be any surprise that it's used for commercial products :).
Laurie
myself and a few other PA's i know use Modo, and even that crashes occasionally ( thankfully we have autosave and 'save incremental', both godsends! rofl!
looking at the Hexagon forum 2.5.2.137 is currently in beta. I haven't kept track of that, so I don't know what changes have been made.
I can only partially agree. The partial is from how some products, in their description, has used the modelling program of choice as a selling point. One can assume that commercial products are done using Hexagon, but that's just something that is not touted. I've seen Zbrush and Modo in many product descriptions, but never Hexagon.
I think going forward, I will just assume that even Hexagon and Zbrush Core can and is being used for commercial products.
#formervictimofbiasfanbase lol
I believe Magic101 used Hexagon for most of his products. Don't know if that's still the case, but it might be.
I'm not going to deal with it until it runs in 64-bit. The beta does, but the release version doesn't. Still 32-bit on a Mac.
It looks as if Hexagon will launch under Mojave, and the controls seemed to work as expected. I didn't run it long or attempt anything very complex, so I can't speak to its overall stability, but it certainly seems functional enough.
The one quirk is that the application icon is tiny: my Dock is full of nice, fat colorful icons, and then a tiny blue dot that is Hexagon. I guess they haven't updated the icon resources to keep pace with OS X's design for larger and larger icons.
Hexagon is quite stable for me. I use it in combination with Silo.
I crashes a lot (or did), for some, it wasn't something I particularly noticed; I used to use it due to its ease of transferring models, but I don't like the interface; I'm a Blender user, and like the interface there.
I'm saying this not to cause a discussion, but to point out that all one needs to do is find a product one likes that does what one needs; nothing else really, matters.
Just found this thread, so I will say: yes, all of the Aguja assets were modelled in Hex, and some of the models were slightly tweaked in ZBrush at some point.
The only exception probably are the seafloor and water plane in the environment bundle. I don't know if Marshian also uses Hex.
I like to combine 3d modellers when I need specific features that one software appliction doesn't support or isn't good at.
But for years my main modeler has been Hexagon.
It can be temperamental and quirky, but the solution for most problematic situations is the incremental save (as already mentioned) :)
And as was already said: the tool doesn't make the artist. ;)
Hexagon has lots of cool features. You have to find your own way working with it, be creative and save often ;) I model all my stuff in Hexagon and if I understood correctly, DzFire also.
