About render farms, anyone knows of a good one/had some success?
Hey everyone!
Up until now, I always rendered my scenes straight from my computer since I had a pretty beefy one, but now unfortunately I don't have it anymore.
I was thinking of getting a decent laptop that allows me to set up simple scenes, 5 characters at the big maximum, but more like two or three generally.
Those scenes would generally take around 20 minutes to render on my old computer.
I'm expecting that with a laptop without my old GTX 1080, it would take pretty much 3 hours per frame. (If I judge by the time it takes to render one of these scenes with my sister's laptop)
So I was thinking about using an online render farm. Just make a bunch of different poses in the animation frames and tell Daz to connect to the farm and batch render the whole thing.
Do any of you know of a good one? Did you have some success with it? Can you give me more or less a comparison of the time it takes rendering?
Thanks in advance!

You talking about Iray?
I run a render server, and it's not a one-size-fits-all solution.
It's great for a lot of things, but there are edge cases where it's not really there yet for everything, for example, the one you quoted above. You can't really batch render in the one-click sense. You need to submit jobs, one at a time. Then retrieve them from the server.
Time comparisons is completely dependent on the specs of the server. So in my case, it has 4 x 1080Ti's... so you'd see a significant decrease from the 3 hour render time you're currently having.
It's worth it in the end, but like I say, it's not super straightforward every time.
