Mec4D PBS Shaders Question

After decrying the lack of consistency and discoverability of merchant resources in another thread...

This is basically a question for the PA, Mec4D. Volume 3 of the Mec4D PBS Shaders is a merchant resource. It looks like Volumes 1 and 2 are not. All are on sale, and I'm very interested in them, but I do my best always to avoid buying shaders that aren't merchant resources. Were all of these volumes intended to be merchant resources? If not, would you consider re-releasing Volumes 1 and 2 as MRs?

Correct, volumes one and two are not merchant resources.

Many PAs do not frequent the forums, so putting a request to Mec4D here is probably of no use. You could put in a support ticket regarding the first two shaders, which, as @Sorel stated, are not merchant resources. As I understand it, Mec4D has been fairly absent from 3d creation for the last couple of months, so I highly doubt you will get a response anytime soon.

OK. Thanks, guys. I'll skip 'em for now. I don't understand the logic of making only 1 out of 3 an MR, but it seems pretty cut and dried that that's just how it is. :-)

I might be wrong, but I thought I remember that there was some overlap between the MR and the other products.

At any rate, I don't see why you wouldn't just pick up the MR if that's what you prefer?

Oh, yeah, I will. It's the others I was speaking of. Looks like Vol. 3 is all metal, whereas the other sets have other types of materials I covet.

Makes sense to me. vols 1 and 2 were released earlier, so maybe there was a need/want to use some of the shaders from the first two as MRs from some users and she made it happen in the form of a MR in pack 3.

It has been my experience that releasing your work as an MR is usually a afterthought once your own products have ran their course,  which makes sense to me.
