Cloth made for Gen 3 fit in Gen 8 body form? Is it possible?

Hey guys, is there any possibility to fit a cloth made for genesis 3 and transoform it for genesis 8 shapes? See the image.

I saw some people using Marvelous to do it, but I did not found a proper tutorial.

Thank you!

  • Stuff made for Gen 3 usually will auto fit to Gen 8. I get a pop up that asks me the source figure when I try to do this and walks me through the process. Maybe you turned something off?

There are a couple of scripts available in the store that will convert all of your gen 3 clothes into gen 8 clothes if that is what you're looking for.

You have to have the Genesis 8 selected when adding the cloth, or autofit will not kick in automatically. Or you choose "fit to" on the right hand side in the clothing options. If you can spare some money, I'd suggest to buy the G3 to G8 clothing converters by Riversoft Art https://www.daz3d.com/clothing-converter-from-genesis-3-female-to-genesis-8-female

It makes an amazing job without the negative side effects, that the Autofit sometimes has.

It fitted, but went wrong, all the folds gone. It seems strange because if I don't select the a body to fit out, the pants appear correctly. But if I select ANY body shape, the folds of the pant disappear and the form stay wrong.

Look at the image, everything seems ok. Note that in the fit option it does not appear the Gen 8 Male option. !!??

  • I don't know it you have resolved your issue but you are supposed to select the figure the item was made for Gen3 male from the drop-down list. 3 to 8 seems to work better than M4 to G8 or Gen5 and Gen6 to Gen8. Once you do get the right fit, you can save it as a clothing preset so you won't have tho go through the fit to part again

This process does not work very well for many of clothes in the library. In this specific case, it worked, but the meshes goes wrong. The pants was fitted according the "leg shape" but the natural folds were gone. It became into something straight. I was thinking in learn more about Marvelous. This kind of trouble could be solved there.
