Deforce reqirements
I have a hp laptop with 4gigs ram, every time I try to use simulate, the computer freezes up before it finishes. Do I need to upgrade ram? Because the whole program seems to run very slow and getting "daz not responding" messages even on rendering.

RAM is just one part of the puzzle. Your GPU and CPU are the other parts. IRay rendering is very labor-intensive, and I can't imagine a 4gb laptop has a very powerful GPU (at least my old 4gb HP laptop didn't).
Laptops are generally best for surfing and Office work, but you're going to need either a mobile gaming or mobile workstation laptop with a better CPU and better GPU to avoid lockups.
I use a gaming laptop with 16GB ram as it's also good on CPU & GPU and came with a high end graphics card. But next time I upgrade I'll go to one of the many companies online who custom build.
