The Cave Island issues

I purchased this product awhile ago and am now attempting to install it. If I use the Install Manager, it is not found in the list of my purchased products to be installed. If I check my account> Product Library it is listed. So I cannot download using Install manager.

If I try to manually install by downloading the two large files, each of them starts the download but then stops with a WINRAR error indicating "unexpected end of file"

Any help on how to install this product, or are there any known issues?

I am using the latest version of IM, and DAZ Studio 4.10.0.123

Are you downloading them manually or trying to open them in WinRar? It sounds, from the error, like the latter. As for DIM, are you sure you haven't already downloaded and isntalled, or installed via Connect (that is, within Daz Studio)? If you isntalld via Connect and have Connect Installed unchecked in the Download Filters (button on the Ready to Download tab of DIM) that would hide the download - as might other options in the Download Filters.

I have looked in all 3 directories of DIM and it is not there.

I tried originally doing a manual install from the zip file, and when that didn't work I tried to do it through Daz Connect. It starts to download the .sep file, gets to about 29% and then stops, saying the file has been downloaded. Then when I try Daz Connect to "Install downloaded" it flashes and then is done.

Each of the files are showing 600+ mb on the site. The most I got was about 300 MB when it stops.

When I tried downloading the .zip file, it did the same thing.

I have also manually gone into the Content directory on the harddrive to look fo the files - they are not there.

Also, if it was already installed, wouldn't it re-install over the existing? All the other files have done this.

I looked in DIM, and the button is checked off. I am thinking that the file is broken on the DAZ server, but have no other way of checking that. No matter what I try, the file #1 out of 2 stops, or doesn't show up at all in DIM

    Thanks

  • Reelyor,  I had a similar problem recently with a different product.  Eventually I submitted a helpdesk ticket and spoke with Amy.  I mentioned clicking the Download & Install buttons you wondered about.  She asked some of the same questions that Richard just did, but eventually had me check the DIM settings for Downloads (cogwheel symbol in the upper right corner of the DIM page).  Here is her quote:  "Hello,
In your Install Manager, under settings, make sure that Connect Available is selected in your Downloads tab.
The "Download & Install" button does bring up the Daz Install Manager, however, if the correct tags are not checked, the product still will not appear in the Install Manager. You just need to have the correct tag checked in order for the product to appear for download.
    Amy"

After following her instructions and restarting DIM my new product showed up at once and was easily downloaded.  I also found almost a hunderd other items that had not shown up earlier - mostly updates that I never knew to look for.  You might give her instructions a try too.

Unless support has fixed the problem, at the start of this week, the product was incorrectly marked as a Macintosh application. If you go into the Downloads tab of DIM's settings, make sure to check the box that says something like "Macintosh (64-bit)". I don't have DIM in front of me now, so I can't tell you the exact spelling.

Once you enable that and save and close the dialog, the product should appear along with a bunch of other stuff you don't want. There are two identically named packages for The Cave Island: I think one contains the model and metadata, the other contains the textures, so you need to download and install both. Once that's done, you can go back into your settings and uncheck that Mac 64-bit box, and the unwanted junk will get hidden again.

I have asked Amy to get support to clear the faulty tag so that all purchasers of The Cave Island will find it in their DIM without having to see the list of unwanted software.

This is good to know. I was going to buy it at the end-of-sale sale.

It's a fantastic set. It will be sad if people are buying it along with other stuff in the sale, and then not using it because they don't realize it never showed up in DIM!

Solved. The files were set to MAC, and were successfully intalled thorugh DIM after making the above change.

    Thanks to all.

I bought The Cave Island yesterday. Downloaded my purchases, did my customary auditions, but The Cave Island was not there because DIM still has its files catalogued under Mac. If, we all put in tickets, perhaps they'll fix it.
