End sarcasm. It's derivated from html tags, where you have the closing tag start with a / like <p>hello</p>.

    /soapbox smiley

Not sure why this is still considered as issue for complaints
    even those couched in sarcasm:

When they say "sexy", do they mean "brazilian carnaval" sexy? indecision

  • I will say that Genesis 8 has offered far more character variations, both male and female, than any previous generation.  Personally I give a lot of credit to Deepsea and George for Generation 3 males to show that non-beauty standard chracters can sell.  Previous to that there have been the odd character or two, but nothing that caused a major stir.

It's commonly used in the reddit comment threads as it means sarcasm...

I stand corrected, it's an old term used in AIM chats and the like... Thanks for the clarification DaWaterRat

Variation path uphill went from g3 even (???) though that subjectively related to "g1 and g2 didnt last long enough before successors" huh

  • I meant George for Genesis 3 males, sorry if that was confusing.  Genesis 2 and in particular Genesis 1 offerered a lot of non-human type characters, but really not anything like the current generation in the way of normal human variants.  All the Genesis generations have had about the same time span thus far - 2 years each.

On the female side we've had a bunch of bundles of women who were older than their 20's - Edie, Mabel, Alexandra, and Penny for example.  That's never happened before that I can recall.

It may predate Reddit, or at least reddit's popularity (not actually sure how old Reddit is).  I was using it 20 years ago on AIM chats.

George was definitely a gamechanger for G3 Males, but I have to point out that Bethany 7, who came out many months before that and was an actual DAZ Base character, was an even bigger sea change.

Personally, I think the two big reasons for the trend have been that A.) with each generation, the base GF/M figures and Victoria/Mike characters have looked less and less like swimsuit models, so there's less of that oversexxed model look for the PAs to have to undo to begin with, and B.) the increasing popularity of extreme-aftermarket morphs like Zev)'s have helped made it clear that a lot of us want characters who feel more real and less photoshopped.

Am I the only one who thinks OP was being dead serious? Just a straight dude who really wants more sexy perfection for eye-candy? devil

That's actually where I thought he was going, considering that there has been a vocal minority who don't find the base G8 female characters attractive.  But I like the sarcasm take better. laugh

yes I did too but also realised not an old old user accustomed to nothing but idealised figures and welcoming the diversity we are getting now

many men like their eye candy and just use DAZ for that, nothing wrong with it, are women who like their pinup hunks too

others like me use it more for telling a story etc and want all sorts of variety, each to their own

  • akmerlowakmerlow Posts: 1,124

"what is beautiful" is so subjective to everyone, also within culture context (at some places "thin" people are not considered very attractive etc)

  • As for eye candy - brasilian carnival dancer with a gorgeous outfit with lots of colored feathers included would be something I would definitely buy - but then, please give me an equally sexy male model with matching outfit as well!

I also though there was no sarcasm intended.

While I totally agree with the OP, there hasn't been a single character released that I didn't have to "enhance" in many ways to get her to my standard of attractiveness. Thank goodness for 3D, modeling and morph sets! wink

Seems like a legitimate request in some ways. I initalliy took it as such. However the "even more" instead of simply "more" makes it seem like it could be a social commentary, and therefore a rhetorical joke.

But then considering the market some of these Daz characters get used within....it kinda seems like a genuine request in my book and should be taken seriously. Let's hope the content creators hear this request and make it happen.

I'd love to be able to afford the Big Girl pack. Love the promos where she appears to be leading a pack of 'Braveheart' type guys, and in the bar drinking her ale. The black girl is really great too.  Such attitude, like 'you got a problem with me?'

Sarcasm? Based on what PA's have said in the past, the title of this thread is 100% true.
