Number of iterations jumping backwards and forwards [Solved]

Hi,

can anyone explain this weird log report on a spot render?

This is just before I canceled it. This took 4.5 hours compared with the previous one done in 2.5 hr. This was in a separate window while the first was in the preview window though, same render settings, this was on the dark side of the figure though and the previous, quicker render, on the brighter side. I was doing a spot render because, the whole render, the eye's were awful compared to the rest of the image which, was perfect in no time. I'd tweaked the settings on the eyes to get more reflections though. But the main things is why is it jumping from the 1000's back to 300's?

Thanks

You said you were doing a spot render - maybe that was the source of the second set of numbers.  It looks like DS was running two renders in parallel.  (i.e. one set of numbers for one render, another for the other.)

Yeah, that was my thought but it wasn't storing or displaying a second render. The preview pane was clear as if doing a main render. I couldn't see any explanation for it.

    Thanks

Did you have your Aux Viewport set to Iray?

No, I tend not to use it.

Just to mark this solved. Don't start a render from the Viewport set to Iray. Choose any other first as it will continue to render in the background using up RAM even if it looks like it's doing nothing. Daz knows and doesn't consider it a bug.
