GIMP 32 bit and Depth Map

So now that GIMP 2.10 has some 32 bit tools to load exr and change exposure, etc...has anyone done a tutorial on using it?  :)

I can make and load them...and I found the old Focus Blur plugin, but not sure the proper steps here.

Also, not sure if there is a "correct" exposure setting for all images for depth maps, or just go with something between -10 and -14?
