I changed a texture image but I dont see the changes in the object...??

hi,

I am trying to change the color of an object, I found the image texture file and opened it in photoshop, I changed the color and then saved the change.

But when I repoened the figure the changes were not visible. I removed the clothing and reapplied it to the figure, still I dont see the change.

Am I missing a step, is there a way to refresh the textures so it captures my updated images?

Daz Studio can seem to be 'a bit aggresive' in it's image caching, but Ctrl-I should get teh new texture file being used.  However ... when you edited the texture file did you over-write the original file?  It would be usual to save the edited image file to a new name, then attach that new file to the surafce.  Also, if the product was intsalled using Connect it may be that te efile(s) are in a location that does not, usually, permit the user modification of files (under the ../data/ folder structure within the Connect library.)

  • One quirk I have noticed is that if you render an image, leave that render window open in DS after stopping it, then change a texture and try to render again, the old textures remained cached until you close the render window -- even if you can see the changes on the figure itself in the viewport.  So besides using cntrl-I to force refresh, also save or close any render windows you have open.

  • Hi , im still having trouble and i bet its because i am doing something wrong...

    see this image:     http://tinypic.com/r/2djteo9/9

You can see that i edited the texture image and saved it ( i made it more red)

Then I tried Ctrl-I, I removed the jacket from the figure and put it back on. I actually restarted Daz and the color of the Jack  on ther figure is stil the old brown.. does anyone know why it is not updating to the red?

    thanks!
