I'm saying it would be a shame if the actual value of the product gets lost in the dissatisfaction with how the store promotions have been set up.

Also, we don't even know if the store is showing the correct offers, there have been store errors pretty much every day for a while now, so might be worth seeing if anything gets altered after DAZ staff start work (about 6-7 hours from now?).

If there were no other promotions going on at the moment, I'd be biting your hand off to get these lights at the standard price... but I'm equally hoping to get the best products at the cheapest prices too.

...yeah, it's showing 44% for the bundle but only 30% for the Advanced Spotlight. This stopped me from putting it in my cart.

Not concerned about the points as I can't afford enough purchases for a given week anyway. I just expected the Advanced Spotlight to have the 44% discount as well. Heck, I'm on a budget that makes shoelaces look like suspension bridge cables

Well, I found a solution for myself - maybe you are in the same position?
I had only Tier 1 and 3 points into Tier 2. This should make it able to get a refund for one item (even 3, if I felt like it).

So I now bought the bundle and ask for a refund for the single item.

...now to something completely different ;-)

Does anybody knows where's the lightbulb from (3rd image - Spotlight promos)?

As far as I understood, that is the same light (advanced spotlight) with different settings for the (inner?) angle. (or did you refer to the actual model of the bulb?)

Oops, sorry! Yes, I meant the model.

I'm also very upset that Spotlight itself is not a part of powerup but only bundle is. I can't return the AoA to get a bundle comfortably, I'm not buying Spotlight with only 30% discount when the bundle is a part of the 44% promotion, and neither I'll be overpaying for the bundle that is 50% of what I already have. Wishlisted at best. Spotlights and pointlights are handy to have but aren't that essential in time saving as ambients are anyway, especially because Spotlight is only optimized for Garibaldi hair I'm not using.
Probably good product, bad timing, bad marketing.

The marketing issues are also being discussed in the threads on the Anniversary promotions - please keep this thread for discussing the products themselves rather than the way the bundle is set up.

Umm, this part isn't quite right - there's at least as many flag options as the ambient light, not just for Garibaldi hair, the manual is quite detailed and there's clearly a lot more to it than that... http://www.ageofarmour.com/3d/tutorials/AoA_advanced_spot_light_help.html

Yes, but it isn't optimized for LAMH as it is for Garibaldi so it is much less incentive for me.

Back on topic - The lights are wonderful and soooo versatile! They allowed me to light what I needed to and tone down what I didn't.

    Thanks for these AoA!!

Now, what would be cool is that one of the PA does a training or lesson. I will pay for that ;)

I bought the spotlight but I'm having the sort of problems some people had with the ambient light. When I look at the light parameters all I am getting is intensity and colour, none of the other settings.

My downloads include an .exe and a zip file (I am running windows 7). I ran the exe and I have tried running it as administrator. The filelist in the readme says it should have installed some files in appdata but they are not there. I have searched in my Daz Studio Library in case it put them there but I can't find them. The zip file just seems to be a Mac version.

    Any ideas?

Some people can't go to Members Forum, can I quote your post in full for the references here?

If they can't go the the MO forum it does mean that they are not PC members, and thus will not be concerned about Power up points.

Wait. So only PC members could collect power up points and 44% discounts all this time? O_o

Sorry for the late reply. I popped in late last night before bed to see if the light had been released. I saw it had but didn't notice the discount/point situation.

A lot of things got confused when the ambient wasn't released in August and was compounded with communication during the PA sale and updates.

The original intent was to to make it so that those who purchased the ambient light before the spotlight's release date would get an additional discount as a thank you to those early adopters. When everything got pushed back to this month my assumption was that they would all release on the same day.

I mentioned different discount options depending on the release timing and DAZ was trying to meet all my requests, even the ones that didn't really apply with the release split over two days. Also, at the time I was making requests I did not understand exactly how the PC sale and point system worked.

The mix up was my fault and I am sorry for the mixups. Please accept my apologies for not having this release and promotion run smoothly. I'm still looking to see if there is something that can be done to make it all work out better for those that purchased the advanced ambient first.

Thank you for checking in to things, AoA. I'm excited about the light. For now, I'm waiting to see what may happen.

Purchased Ambient Light when released, purchased Spotlight today.
Purchasing separate items seems important to some, but if it works. worth the
    money.
If it works is the key.
When I purchased the Ambient Light it took days of installing and
reinstalling to get it to work.
Light installed but in parameters, no settings, when used as the only light figure rendered
    black.
It was a new product, issues expected.

Figured problem resolved, purchased spotlight today, have same issues with that
It does not work, it loads you can move and rotate, etc, no setting other than color and intensity.
The Michael 5 figure renders as a black silhouette.
Please tell me someone knows about this and I do not have to spend additional hours
trying to fix something that I perhaps overpaid for

Oh well, I'm sure it'll all come good in the end... I was reckoning they'd be worth the investment and went ahead and bought them anyway (don't get me wrong, won't turn down any discounts thrown my way, hehehe)

My first test - the water is a semi-transparent plane with two advanced spots on it (one with ripple gobo, the other with caustic gobo) with water plane flagged so the spots wouldn't affect the ambients used for rest of the scene...

Next up, I tried a more complex scene... and it would've worked too if it wasn't for those meddling kids - umm, I mean if I'd remembered to turn down the ambient strength for the wall light closest to the window - but apart from that (user error etc etc) gotta say they're kicking butt. Currently working on a scene using volumetrics (might not be done tonight anyway, but should be pretty kick-ass if it works)

It's currently part of the Halloween Havoc sale so it's half price <$5.</p>

I'd like to know the answer as well.

There are no other settings other than Light colour and light intensity in Parameters tab.

Oh, maybe I was lucky with my install, I got lots of options in my Parameters tab - betty swollocks, hope it gets sorted soon for the folk it's affecting because it's a great product.
