Question regarding Lighting settings for an Iray Render
Hi gang:
Hope you are all doing well. My question is about lighting. Right now I am working on doing an "Amazon Court" scene composed of the Queen, a couple of sentries and a few supporters with their big cats. The scene is an indoor one using DM's serenity court. Have my poses, and all my women in costume. Trouble is everytime I render this using the indoor lighting provided with this scene, it always comes out super dark and the characters and scene are barely visible. Please understand I an not skilled in lighting yet, so give me some pointers as to what I am missing out on, and remember I am "dense" when it comes to instructions, so just give me enough that my scene will be visible, don't want my figures "white', but I want to start fixing my indoor scenes. Many thanks for your patience and support. Slanghavah!

If you look at the promos, in many of them there is dome (outside) and scene light (inside), do you have both enabled in the render settings? If you are just using scene light, then the candle and torch light probably woon't be enough to light the scene effectively. Simple fix, select the light in the surfaces tab with the surface selector tool and turn the Luminance value up till they are brighter. For better results add another light source to supplement the existing ones. Hope that helps
Lighting is the most important part of a scene, so it would be in your best interest to learn more about lighting.
Or You could learn something about camera settings and change the ISO value to a more fitting level.
Or You could use a ghost light set that just brightens up the whole room a bit, without You having to put more normal lightsources into the "picture"
Hmmm ... just to check the obvious. When choosing lights, did you make sure you chose daylight instead of nighttime and the Iray instead of the 3Delight options? Choosing any of the wrong options would lead to difficulties.
