Lighting issue in an Iray view port

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me because this is driving me nuts.

I'm running Daz Studio 4.10 on a Windows 10 PC fitted with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. This issue I'm having is that when I set the view port to Iray, it's not giving me a full idea of the lighting. It will update based on the Environment lighting, but if I place a spot light, or in my current example, I've used a plane, changed it's surface to a light Emissive and placed it directly above my object. The preview view port just seems to ignore these sort of lights.

Attached is a render of the scene, and as you'll see the plinth thing is being illuminated by the plane above it.

But if you look at the screen grab of Daz Studio, the view port will not display any kind of light from the plane, even if I ramp up luminance settings to a stupid amount.

I've also attached the scene file too.

It makes trying to illuminate a scene next to impossible.

Would really appreciate any help at all please.

Thanks in advance.

  • Emissives won't show in the preview by default - the Draw Settings pane has options for what is previewed, while the Iray mode is active, which may help, though it will of coursse have an impact on performance.

  • Bingo. Brillient, just what I was looking for.

    Thanks for your help Richard.
