Where is the content directory manager configuration file?

My computer took a huge nosedive and crashed. It's either the motherboardly (unlikely since it's new as of March) or the processor (It's over 6 years old) Anyhow, I pulled the hard drives out and got my extra daz content off it, placing them onto a reliable external hard drive. Now I have my old SSD in a usb case so I can pull off my configuration files. However I cannot locate the content directory manager file so I can quickly edit it to point to the new location and reload Daz. Since I have my extra content divided up ionto multible directories that was a royal pain to configure the first time so I want to save time because I want to get back to my hair project quickly.

Anyhow, I greatly appreciate your help and have a wonderful day.

  • I think the content directories may be in the registry, rather than in a separate file.

oh nice, so I gotta go reg file trolling to locate the directories. If I didnt have like 20 of them I wouldnt care but it was hard to get them all in to begin with.

Edit: Well, after searching around I discovered the physical location of the registry files. Unfortunaly, I am unable to read them. I guess I need to start adding directories so I can access my full runtime

Next time I'm going to export. Hmm, I wonder if I can edit the contentdirectorymanager.dsx got it

I got it in by editing the file, now if I could just get daz to keep my Xade Content

I also hoped, with all those dsx-files, that the Content Directories would be in one of them, but sadly DAZ stored the Content Directories in the registry. They can be found in

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DAZ\Studio4

with the keys named "ContentDir0", "ContentDir1", etc. Beware: the paths are stored with a forward slash, so you need to replace them with backward slashes before using the directory path.
