Boyfriend shirt plus Bikini by H&C

I just wonder if there is a special reason why this shirt, that's supposed to be for a male, has the buttons on the wrong side? So it's in fact a blouse, not a shirt, right?

Adding to that, most of the textures are also more female than male fashion...

It's a great product, but why has it to be called "Boyfriend Shirt" when all of the above yells at you "but it's a blouse for a female!!!"

But it isn't "male style" as the buttons are on the wron side, which makes it "female style" devil

The "Boyfriend shirt" has now become a fashion item in it's own right rather than being simply what the name suggests.  So orginally it was a genuine male shirt, worn by a female and would be totally oversized baggy and long enough to cover, usually borrowed (or so we were supposed to believe) during an impromptu overnight stay.  At one time there was a fad for having an "ex-boyfriend shirt"

Back in the 1950s there was a fad where teenage girls borrowed their dad's shirt to wear over a pair of pedalpushers. It was a white business shirt with the sleeves rolled up and hung loosely over the pedalpushers. So this style goes way farther back than people realize.
