Question about geoshell made for one character to use on another character.

I would like to make a mask of the face of a character I created and use it on another character I created, kind of like how Michael Myers wore a Captain Kirk mask of Shatner in Halloween.  Is his even possible?

  • You could export as OBJ, then load that as a prop.

You could export as OBJ, then load that as a prop.

I just tried that.  I had everything but the face surface set to 0 oppacity, exported it and saved it in a seperate folder on my desktop,  When I import it back into DAZ, everything is now visible, not just the face.

Edit:  I went and turned off everything in the shell tab under Parameters except for the face and head.  I then went and exported it again, and saved it under  a different name as to not get it confussed with the old on.  I Then imported thae new one back into DAZ and saved it as a prop.  Now it works right when I load it.  Thanks, Richard Haseltine.

  • Opacity is not a very effective way to hard parts of a shell - if you look in the Parameters pane there should be a proeprty group for the shell, and that has on/off buttons for the bone and suface groups. I'm not certain they will export that way, though - if not you can use the Geometry Editor (Tools menu) to select the unwanted parts of the imported OBJ (most easily by using the + signs next to the unwanted groups in the Tool Settings pane), right-click>Geometry Visibilty>Hide Selected, right-click>Geometry Editing>Delete Hidden.

Yeah, surface settings such as opacity don't actually affect the mesh, so importing it would simply make those faces visible again with a default surface. As Richard stated, you need to actually delete the polygons for it to be removed from the mesh permanently.
