DS Smart Content: why multiple icons of same settings?

I've notcied on some products there are multiple icons .. for instance, one product has 4 of them..all the same. A bucnh, most, have two icons ... it isn;t for 3DL or Iray wither..they are the exact same setting, clothing item, light, whatever. 

Is there a way to clear them so only 1 is listed?

I've most often noticed this with stuff for the MFD and such, where there are multiple generations of the outfit.  The icons for all generations will show up, and in the Smart Content view, you don't even get a tool tip telling you that this is for the MFD for Genesis 3, while that one is for the MFD for Genesis 8 (unless you have filtered on and the item selected, but then you don't get to see what expansion parts/cloak you need, which for me is unhelpful when I'm trying to test things out, but I'm sure it works for someone)

Your easiest route is to turn on Filter by Context, and make sure that the item you want to find textures for is selected.  Then, as long as all the applicable texture sets are indexed correctly, you should just see the ones that suit whatever you're trying to find a preset for

If you expand the bottom section of the Smart Content pane the Infor tab will show the full path to the file.

Sometimes they are for 2 different generations as well.

I often do have two icons for the exact same thing... Two exact same icons in makeup/skin/eyes especially, both IRay with a character checked off at the bottom. This happens in Poser too with V4. No idea why this happens.
