wonder how caller id has affected pranks?

Usually these prank callers are 9-12 yrs old. They may not know how caller id works. I think voice mail has taken a lot of the fun out of it too.

I was getting this one until I blocked them...

Caller Id: Unknown Name and Number
Ring, ring, ring. Click, "Hello." long pause, then a Female voice says "Hello, did you know the F.B.I. reports a home is broken into every seven minutes? We will install a Home Security System in your residence at no cost to you...blah, blah, blah. Just call (any numbers here) or visit our Web site at (fake web page here) so we can really start ripping you off soon."

Well, I figured the last part was implied so I added it.

Someone has started a new one over here. I have joined the scheme to block cold calling, so the new Scam goes like this "Hello can I speak to Mrs Soandso" (In nice non english accent) so I reply "I am sorry I think you must have dialed a wrong number" to which I then get " I dialed 000 00000000. is that not this number" to which I then reply impatiently "I think you have dialed a wrong number" reply this time is " OK, but as you are on the phone this could apply to you as well" At which point I lose my rag, shout I am not interested" and disconnect.

Is it stupid to want to go back to school even though I do not know how I will pay for it?

It is never stupid to go back to school. My Son went back to school, did a one year foundation course in order to upgrade his certificates because his original studies had been in England, and he now lives in Ireland, which is a different country. He got such good results in that course that he was granted a place at University to study for a BSc and a teaching degree. He has done 2 years at Uni and will start his third and final year next month. That is on top of running a household and being a Father, His youngest daughter starts her senior school this term as well.

Check on financial assistance with the the school you want to attend. Look for grants. Hope you can find a way to pay for it. The more education the better. Good for you wanting to go back to school.

Spam mail is stupid, but what is more stupid is reading the spam mail and clicking on the links in the spam mail. That just encourages more spam mail to come and filling up the spam mailbox. Then it becomes a viscous cycle
