Problem with Fur

Hi everyone

Total noob here....I'm using Wintertide for Genesis 2 Female(s) (https://www.daz3d.com/wintertide-for-genesis-2-female-s) and I'm having some problems with it...

Instead of that voluminous fur pictured on the vendor site, I get this not really furry looking abomination:

What am I doing wrong?

Pls help =)

it uses a 3Delight shader, if using iray you need to apply the iray Uber shader and in the surface parameters probably subdivide the displacement and increase it
but sadly iray does not do displacement as well as 3Delight

Oso3D's iray fur shaders are another option

As the previous poster said you can apply an iray uber shader and then an iray fur shader.   At that point, if you have another iray item that has a fur that works in iray, you can sometimes apply the surface to the older item.  I use this product a lot   https://www.daz3d.com/dg-iray-fur-flocking-scales-shader-presets ; You will have to turn off surface parameters to get super fluffy though.  That's why I said to use from other things that already have a texture you like.

    Thx a lot!

Don't understand a thing from the first part...but Oso3D's iray fur shaders look promising!

Either my product or DG's will do well. Hers has adjustments for various styles of fabric and flocking, it's very cool.

My product's key trick is including a map to control the displacement value separately from the noise making individual hairs; the result is that you can define where the fur is and how much there is.

Honestly, for clothing with surfaces with fur and surfaces without, the advantage of Oso Fur doesn't matter much, unless you want to make patterns in the fur.
