Saving Polygon Visibility

DocDoc Posts: 46

Hi. Having a slight issue, I often hide model parts by clicking on the eye icon in the Scene Manager. That's great, saving a scene remembers whats visible and what isn't.

However, when I use the Geometry Editor tool to select more specific parts of the model and hide them, those don't get saved. When I reload the scene they're visibile again.

Is there any way to make the hidden parts more permanently hidden?

Thanks.

Instead of doing it that way, create a new material zone with the polys you want hidden and then turn down the opacity
  • You need to delete the hidden polygons before saving the scene. Select the object with hidden polygons and right click on it with the geometry editor tool to get the popup menu.

If you really want them gone, for polygon reasons,, you can use the same context menu to delete hidden faces. Its down below in the context menu.

    Thanks for all the answers!

or cretae a new selection set, from the right-click menu, and that will save with the scene - it won't load invisible, but with the Geometry Editor tool active you can hide it quickly from the Tool Settings pane.

Non destructive, that's even better! Thanks, Richard.

I prefere FSMCDesigns method. It's non-destructive, saves between loads, and you can add different shaders to that area later if you want.
