...any idea why this might be happening? i'd really appreciate some help. i've never run into anything like this.
the figure looks normal when the pose is zeroed out. but when the pose is applied, i get this nasty melted-candle distortion on both thighs.
the same pose applied to g8f base works just fine.
i've tried zeroing out the currently used morphs that seem to be the likeliest culprits. but i haven't managed to identify the problem that way.

It's a known problem with the beta. There's talk about it in the beta thread :) Probably wouldn't hurt to put in another bug report tho.

I've seen this exact issue recently with someone else, it's some flexing morphs that load in value higher than needed for some reason. Look under "currently used" in properties tab (check "show hidden") and see which morphs it is, either zero them out to normal values, or reinstall essentials or the morph pack that causes this as temporary solution, but yea, submit a bug most definitely.
thank you, allenart and valzheimer. i really appreciate your suggestions and your help.

under parameters / misc / flexions / set it to off and it will fix the figure until they correct the bug.
I had a similar problem a while ago with a certain pose set (freebie from other site) and I'm not using the beta so it can occur under otherwise normal (I assume) circumstances as well. Had something to do with the pose parameters being off limits while they had to have limits turned on to work (sounds contradictory to me but what do I know).
thank you *very* much, nickalaman...i'll try that later tonight.
and thank you too, taoz. i first noticed the problem working with the beta, but when it turned up again today i was working in the latest stable release of studio. interesting that a pose might have to have limits turned on to work. who knew? not me. :)

I have exactly the same problem with DS4.11.0.171 64bit BETA. Gf8 gets distorted legs. I found the culprit morphs to be Flex Quad Left and Flex Quad Right. These were set at over 600%.
thank you, IsaacNewton!
those quad flex morphs were the problem. both of them were set over (well, under, really) -1100%.
